Go clothes shopping at a real store (versus online) without worrying they won’t carry my size. Sitting cross legged comfortably. Ride a roller coaster. Use a standard bath towel.

So when I was down 10 pounds nobody noticed, I was 15 pounds down & was just waiting for someone to say something but nobody was, 20 pounds down, still NOTHING...So now I'm down 23 down & yesterday was at a birthday party & I was offered cake. I said no thank you I'm 23 pounds down & dont want to derail myself...The response I got was "yeah I can tell & you may be losing way too much & just too fast since the last time I seen you" What?! Last time I seen you I was already down 20 & you said NOTHING now you are criticizing?! Uhhhhg I couldn't believe it. Made me sad because I'm working so hard to lose AND to get in all the nutrition I need in order to be healthy. But I just said well actually I'm being very mindful about what I consume & I'm getting all the nutrition my body needs but thank you for your concern, I promise I'm healthy. Now this wouldn't bother me if it were a coworker or someone unimportant to me but it was my own mother! Like how about a "good job". Especially since directly after she told me how worried she is about my morbidly obese step father who eats uncontrollably and nonstop. I know she didn't mean to hurt my feelings but it is really bothering me. From now on EVERYTIME I think someone has lost weight I am going to give them praise & let them know they are AMAZING, because who knows what they are hearing from others :)

My Mom often says similar things about all topics, mostly parenting, and what food I buy. I think some Moms show love by trying to be “helpful” or express concern to show they care, but often it can feel like a criticism. Hang in there. :heart:

I had someone that I had dated previously told me looked better with more weight. I was really upset because I worked so hard and I was finally at a healthy weight.

It's important to remember that not everyone has the same goals. If someone tells me they lost weight or gained weight, I always ask if that's their intention so I can give them either the praise or the support they need.

I really like that diet bet doesn't allow you to lose more than 12% of your weight per month, because sometimes your body can go into shock if you drop weight too fast. My Hormones were all over the place because my body was working harder than it should have when I dropped weight to fast. But if your mother was quick to assume that you weren't doing it the healthy way or wasn't really concerned about your actual health and was just saying that to spite you, you dont need that negativity! You're doing a great job!

    Yesterday we talked about going the extra mile, now we're making it Friday's challenge.
    Here's the challenge: Go the extra mile today! That's going to be different for everyone. Examples: Do 10 minutes more cardio than you normally do, skip that soda pop for some water, eat an extra serving of veggies, think positive and focus on your progress.   • Having healthy snacks available and ready to go throughout the day is super helpful when you need a quick pick-me-up or are feeling hungry in between meals.

    Keeping healthy food nearby can help prevent you from eating something you've been trying to avoid if you become excessively hungry, instead of reaching for that cookie, you could get out those eggs that are already peeled and boiled.

    Some snacks that are easily portable and simple to prepare include whole fruits, nuts, baby carrots, yogurt and hard-boiled eggs.

    What quick and healthy snacks do you keep around to help keep your hunger in check?

Wow...I'm back again. So ready to do this. 2 and a half years ago I did my first diet bet and lost 35lbs. Then I stopped doing diet bet, eating healthy out and working out. Then I gained it all back plus a bit more. No more. Ready to put myself first and my health and make no more excuses. Dietbet was so helpful the first time around to keep me accountable and the community kept me going. So excited to do to start this new healthy journey.

Me too! I am going to do a lot more research on keeping it off this time. I also will continue to weigh in regularly and prob even food tracking even reaching my goal. For me, esp in times of stress, I apparently need these routines to keep me in line :)

Yeah think I'm going to have to do the same because when I reach my goal weight I seem to let loose and havent weighed myself or tracked food in forever. And in times of stress, I'm the worst. We got this!!!
