This is the first time i have done a monthly dietbet, my first one was 6 months. It looks like the progress weigh in is only if i do a yearly membership, is that right? It won't let me get past the sign up for yearly when I click on weigh in.

For this game is the final weigh in the only thing that matters to get the final pot?

The progress weigh in (unofficial) just helps you keep track of how much you e lost. The weekly weigh in for the prize isn’t necessary

EmellyMLE

I believe you can update your progress weekly if you aren’t a member

I bought one of those waist spinny things after seeing someone post about wanting to do it 10 minutes a day and I thought I'd support her and do the same but I can't find the post now!

Does anyone else have one and do you want a daily check in for a waist spinny challenge? Just 10 minutes a day?

  • Weigh-in approved. Lost about 16 pounds in my January Kickstarters. I always drop weight pretty fast when I first start trying to lose weight because I DRASTICALLY change my eating habits. (Such as I no longer consume 80% of my daily calorie allotment before 8am by eating breakfast at McDonalds 5 days a week after driving my sons to school!) I need to lose 9.9 in this one. This month will be more of a challenge because my body has adapted to the new calorie intake so I have to be more vigilant on my food choices - and pay attention to the portion sizes. Anybody else use MyFitnessPal to log your food? It’s a necessary accountability tool for me. I try to log my food before I eat it and will make adjustments in how much I choose of what items are available. It’s like a game or puzzle to me. But losing this weight is more than a game to me now. It’s necessary for my health issues that are long term effects of almost dying from C0V!D in 2021. My husband didn’t make it. We have three sons who need their mom, and need her to be in the best health possible. What is your motivation for losing weight and getting healthy? This is my before and after photos from January 1 and January 30. Wishing you Good Luck, Good Choices, and Good Health on your journey! You got this!!

What is the maximum % of your weight you can lose for this game before you are disqualified? The rules refer to 12%, but I wonder if that’s for longer than 4 weeks. I’m a bit confused about it.

Say I weigh 100kg, they seem to set the goal at 4%, so 96kg is the goal.

If I lost 12%, that’s 12kg, so 88 would be the minimum. But 12 in 4 weeks seems impossible. Just trying to figure out the win limits. Thanks.

Thanks for the clarification.

Shrinking Nona, ya unless the person was like 500+ that’s not good to lose. I’m assuming they had to be for their body to be able to do that

  • Hello everyone, welcome to our February game! Our game officially starts today & I am so excited/grateful to have you all here! For those of you who don't know me - my name is Lexi (fatgirlfedup) & I joined my first dietbet January 2016 that helped me lose over 300lbs! I have been in multiple dietbets during my own journey, which is why i'm so passionate about hosting since I know they work. We will have others joining us for up to 14 days! If this is your first dietbet - welcome! If this isn't your first time - welcome back & i'm happy you are here to continue your journey! Remember every single healthy decision you make will add up to big results! I'm hoping to lose some pounds with you & can't wait to hit our goals together!
Some tips that helped me for our game:
    - WATER IS YOUR BEST FRIEND. Make sure you are staying hydrated! Water can help keep you full and boost metabolism!
    - PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR FOOD & MOVE! I use myfitnesspal constantly to learn about what i'm eating. It helps me track my food/workouts and is my favorite app. I also enjoy the elliptical but there's so many ways to move such as walking, hiking, biking - it all adds up, just keeo moving and find what you enjoy personally!
    - PROGRESS PHOTOS: Sometimes you can't see the progress on the scale, having photos will show your progress also. I regret not taking more photos/videos in the beginning. Trust me, you'll want them! Plus I love seeing all your photos from the bet, so feel free to tag me!
    - LET'S ALL BE FRIENDS. Be sure to post often & be sure to use hashtag #fatgirlfedupsdietbet on social media so we can find eachother! Also feel free to share the game, the more people to reach our goals with the better!
    - DON'T GET DISCOURAGED. Never let the scale bring you down. It could be a number of things & our weight constantly fluctuates. You are so much more than a number!
    Let's do this! <3

What is the correct way to calculate how much water to drink. I found one online and with my age weight and height it said 100 oz. A long time ago I was told it’s half your body weight in ounces but that would be a lot of water!! I’m almost at 100oz today and I feel fine with that. Just peeing a lot

I’ve seen so many mixed answers online about this too! I just try to drink at least 80oz a day

christine k.

The first week you’ll adjust and pee less often. My doctor said drink until pee is very pale.

What are a few daily habits you are trying to cultivate that support weight loss & a healthier lifestyle overall?

Here are a few of mine:
•only drinking water. I don’t even drink diet soda, mostly because I don’t believe artificial sweeteners are as safe as they are marketed as
•aiming to meet at least 10k steps a day. I work at an office so this is kinda tricky, but I have a Fitbit that reminds me to get up every hour to get 250 steps in 9 hours out of the day, and I go on 2 15 min walks throughout the day, usually once in the morning before work & in the evening after dinner
• eat meals that focus heavily on protein and healthy fats so I stay full longer. I don’t completely restrict carbs but I avoid them, especially highly refined & starchy carbs like potatoes or bread or rice
•be kind to myself. Staying consistent is more important than being perfect. If I eat a cupcake or skip a workout or walk that doesn’t mean I have to completely scrap my weight loss fitness & diet plan. Keep going

:)

I’d love to hear your goals & habits

I’m going to decrease the soda intake I always get a Diet Coke everyday so getting medium instead of large and then I’m adding 80-100 ounces of water a day. Making sure to reach my daily protein goal and then 6000-10,000 steps is my goal to start

Aphelia

What always does the trick for me, is to have fresh green salad with a splash of balsamic vinegar with every main meal. It works by absorbing a bit of the fat from the main food. So, I end up with more weight loss every month than I would without it, at least 1 extra pound off.

I’ve used MyFitnessPal in the past and may start tracking on there again. Has anyone used a better app? Anybody using mfp and want an accountability buddy?
