I agree with your decision not to use Nutrisystem or any artificial weight lose food program. I used Fitness Pal and it was the best way for me to keep track of my calorie intake and calories burned through exercise. I found a Fitbit to help as well. I used homemade soups and salads (cutting way back on the dressings) And lean meat and veggies. It is now automatic for me to order a side of veggies in place of fries when eating out. ( I do share fries with someone else when I go to McD but I refuse to eat them unless they are fresh!) I hate soggy fries. Good luck with the new start and have fun finding a program that works for you.

Thanks!

I do the same. It is an old Weight Watcher recipe. The flavor varies enough with whatever veggies you use...some fresh, some frozen. I prefer at least a few bell peppers to give a sweet aftertaste without the sugar calories. Using beef or chicken broth adds a little protein. Sometimes I'll cook to soft but most often, like to leave a little crunch to make me slow down.

I have been eating mine raw mostly, but I will say, I do so love just about any of them, chopped, no salt, + either chopped onion or onion powder + parmesan + real not the fake stuff butter! UUUHMMMM roasted at 400degrees for 20-30 minutes.... uuuuummmmmmm! THANK YOU FOR THE RECIPE!

Hard words to hear, but motivating to make positive changes in our lives. That's great that your doctor encouraged you to keep active, except on that one ankle. There was a guy at my gym who hobbled around on crutches for weeks but worked out regularly. I was impressed with his determination to keep working out. He did a lot of arm, chest, and ab exercises. I can't remember what else. I pray you have a speedy recovery. And, one other thought that popped into my head...do "they" say weight loss is 80% diet and 20% exercise, or something like that. Maybe focus on your daily food intake during these recuperating months.
