I'm really struggling mentally today. I've been having a really hard time losing weight lately which has affected my motivation. But last week was good- so good! I kept up with my workouts, my nutrition was 👌👌. Still lost ZERO pounds. But that's ok (I keep telling myself)- I just gotta stick with it. Then yesterday... I feel like crap, I'm super bloated. Mentally, I feel like the last two weeks were pointless. It's a struggle to do anything but scroll on my phone today. So here I am, half dressed in workout clothes in my closet. I know I should get outside to some fresh air, get my heart pumping and get some sunlight (it's 80 and sunny where I live) but am finding it difficult to put on my shoes. I hate this feeling. My heart says I've failed and to give up, my brain says "this will pass. Just put on the shoes and go outside. One step at a time." I'm sharing this in hopes that there maybe someone who feels the same as I do today and for them to know (for me too) that we are not alone. I typically only post my successes- but I thought today I should be real.

I was just going to get on here and say something similar. I have been working really hard for over 2 months and I can’t seem to move past that first month goal. I workout everyday and have been doing so much better on my eating (still not perfect but better) and that normally shows on the scale for me.

It is really discouraging to make positive changes but not be able to physically see the results. I know the long game is to create better habits that will last and I’m happy that I feel like I’m doing something I can maintain in the future but the mind games happening when results don’t reflect the effort yet….it’s SUPER HARD.

Thanks for sharing your struggle and letting me know I’m not alone in this :blush:

My inner dialogue (when I’m not saying the same things you are) is “trust the process”. Weight loss is not linear. We are going to go up, down, plateau, and repeat. I have been feeling like you too. Working super hard, and then the scale goes up 2lbs and then a week later i plateau for another week. Makes me crazy with the DietBet deadlines lurking. BUT if we keep moving our body and feeding it good fuel the only result can be a healthier, stronger, you than you were before. You got this, we got this. Thanks for sharing :muscle::heart:

Made my round 1 weight by the skin of my teeth. So, good. Thing is, a week ago when my Kickstarters finished I was nearly 2 lbs lighter. This next 3% will probably be challenging for me. Good luck all.

I was ahead of the game and gained 2 pounds over the last week... I know it is water because my diet was pretty good, but still annoying that the gap narrowed. I need to up my exercise to make the next round for sure. Good luck everyone.

  • This is my GO TO dinner! Easy to prep ahead of time, delicious and so filling! I absolutely love it. Just a giant salad. 😍 I could eat this every night for the rest of my life.

If the monthly goals seem like too much for you, set your own goals. Just losing 2% a month will still win you the game. You signed up because you wanted to lose weight. If you're feeling down or unmotivated, just check in with this group. We'll be your cheerleaders!

Can you take 10 minute-breaks at work and walk the staircase up&down, short walk around the block, or anything else to add some steps in? maybe you can call someone you care about during those breaks... that's what I do in mine. It helps me staying in touch with friends and family.

  • When it comes to sweets and treats, do you cut back or cut out when you are actively trying to lose weight? For me its easier not to take the first bite. However some people are able to satisfy their sweet tooth with small amounts of treats, like a square of dark chocolate. Which side do you fall on. In the long run a healthy lifestyle is easier to maintain if you practice moderation instead of deprivation. So what is your strategy?

  • Yay! It's day number one!

    I'm so glad you're part of this awesome group. Some of you are beginning your weight loss journey, some are nearing the end, or maybe you're somewhere in the middle. Most likely you have a number in mind as your ultimate goal weight! But, no matter how close you are to that, a plan to succeed is so beneficial. My challenge for you is share your plan to re-inspire yourself and others, or sit down and form a plan if you haven't yet. If you're at the beginning think of just one thing you can do today to make yourself healthier as a starting point, no matter how small. That success will propel you forward. Think small goals that will lead you to your big goals! And just for fun let us know where you're from. I'm in Southern UT!

My plan is to just "show up." It probably sounds weird. But this past year I've just been in such a funk. I'm super unmotivated. But I just gotta show up. I'm gonna fake it til I make it. I've never been this detached and withdrawn ever- I'm usually "all in" - I used to love working out. But, I can't find that passion right now. I just got to show up. Do that workout I don't want to do. Go the extra step in preparing a healthy meal/ snack instead of starving myself or just grabbing the quickest / most unhealthy snack in the house. That's the plan for now.
