Let’s chat a little bit about meal timing!

Is it true that you shouldn’t eat carbs at night?!

The answer is… it depends!

Science says that it really doesn’t matter when you eat your food and as long as you’re in a calorie deficit and hitting your protein you’ll be fine.

But here are a few things to consider:
➡Sometimes healthy carbs at night can improve sleep and give you energy for an early am workout
➡But also sometimes big meals at night (especially if they include sugar) can disrupt sleep and the recovery that comes along with that because your body is focusing on digestion
➡Some people can stay on track better all day if they have a nightly treat to look forward to
➡Other times people have a hard time stopping snacking at night when they do eat after dinner

So as you can see it really depends on the person. Do you feel like you do better or worse when you eat at night?

I always eat at night and it works well for me.

Overeat at night. I just have no control so I don't eat anything after dinner

Been sick for two weeks now, barely up and moving. Probably won't make this goal being unable to exercise. :(

Trainer Lindsey

Jordan - nutrition is everything!! Focus on that and you can still see progress!

I have found that the first 3-5 days of a lifestyle change or new habit is the hardest so CONGRATULATIONS!! You’re made it through with the hardest part!

If you’ve found yourself struggling, don’t beat yourself up over it. Just keep on doing your best every single day and I PROMISE it’ll get easier!

If you’re still high on motivation and this has been easy for you, that’s awesome! Enjoy this time when motivation is high! Also remember though, that motivation won’t always be sky high and right now is when you’re building habits that will last you through the hard times when motivation is low. It WILL happen. Expect it. When it does, you’ll be able to rely on these habits you’re building now to get you through!

So I want to know…. How are you guys doing so far? Comment below and let me know!

Really doing well! Eye on the prize. Remembering my “why” that I want to set a great example for my family and live that healthier lifestyle as a habit

Jessica A.

Doing great! Bloating has been high and so my weight has fluctuated so much day to day. I will only weight once a week to help stay focused and know the proper foods to eat that work for me.

I know we are focusing on the scale this month because we want to win $$$!! But let's take a minute to talk about NON scale victories or NSVs.

If the ONLY tool you’re using to measure your progress is the number on the scale then you’re missing out on so much!

What is one Non Scale Victory you’ve noticed in the last week?

What's your plan for the weekend?! When you don't have a plan you're much more likely to give in! Make those hard decisions NOW and let's stay on track this weekend!

What's your plan to stay on track over the weekend?!

Making the decision to have one larger meal (200-300 calories more than normal) and then staying on track with macros the rest of the weekend.

I have a baby shower to go to so going to make sure I still get in a healthy snack before I go so I am not starving when I get there

This week being our first week, I want you to really think about your WHY.

Why do you want to lose this weight? What's the first thing that comes to mind. Think through this. Maybe even journal about it.

Then once you have that reason, WHY do you want THAT?

I want you to ask yourself WHY 3 times to try to get down to that deeply rooted reason.

If you're comfortable with it, leave a comment below with your why!

I struggle with a why. I feel like I am normally motivated by something that goes away once I lose the weight then I go back to old habits. Trying to work on one that is more positive and a continuous goal.

Trainer Lindsey

Kelly- I’m glad you realize that and are thinking about it. Another question you can ask yourself is what will losing this weight do for my life? That might help you find your why.

This is a kick in the behind for me. Lots of life changes have meant I’ve been focussed on everything except myself and the weight has been piling on to the highest it’s been. I want to feel comfortable again and like how l feel so making a concentrated effort to lose some of what I’ve been carrying (in all senses of the word), is what I’d like for the spring and sunshine ahead.

Jessica A.

My goal is to keep going! This will motivate me to keep sticking to my goals of feeling better, finally dropping some more weight and continuing to sleep better. I have had some non scale victories and I want to continue that. There’s no way I’ll drop the rest of the 10 lbs I am wanting but 4% is completely doable with work and determination.
