I’m doing a 100 push-ups a day challenge. I roped my kids into it too. I thought breaking it up throughout the day would make it be a piece of cake. I was so wrong and am so sore.

  • Monday workout complete!!

    I was pretty MIA for October. I put in minimal efforts with nutrition. I hurt my knee exercising then didn't do much.

    Today was a reset for me. I'm trying to regain control. I lost round 2 and 3, but if I focus I can get back on track. I started 21 day fix today (4th time doing the program) because I feel like that's my starting mode. Determined to make healthy choices!!

I had alcoholic drinks this weekend. Today I got dressed and am amazed how tight my clothes feel. Going to drink a lot of water to try and flush out the junk. It’s amazing how fast foods and drinks can affect our bodies.

I had so much beer my liver didn't know what was happening. But I got right back to exercising and eating better first thing Tuesday morning. We got this, a little break in the routine is good.

My son has been giving me more hugs recently and I love them. What I don’t love is him grabbing a back fat bulge when he’s doing it. Time to get back into strength training, I think it will help firm up the bulges.

Kids can be hurtful sometimes without meaning it. I get a lot of comments about how I am soft and my boyfriend is hard haha. Strength training has helped me with back pain but my rolls are still hanging in there. I'll take it.

I had made my goal last week with a couple Lbs extra but I’ve been on vacation this week at an All-Inclusive resort and I sabotage myself. Gained several Lbs back and didn’t make my goal weight after all!! 😩 Congratulations to all that meet your goal weight. Round 2 here I come!! 😊

It's hard to diet anytime, but nearly impossible when you're on vacation and everyone else is enjoying lots of great food!! You'll catch-up in no time and hit the Round 2 goal!!

I weighed in and usually I would give myself a splurge day and eat everything I want. I’m feeling so good with all the exercise I’m doing and eating much less I don’t feel like I need to splurge. Changing the way I’m eating is making a huge difference in how I feel.

That's so great! I'm slowly learning that too...fast food doesn't feel like the reward it used to. The "reward" is just feeling genuinely better when I eat healthy and take better care of myself. Nice job!

Good for you!!!! A splurge can be a healthy treat too, like a fresh fruit you wouldn't normally buy. I'm indulging in fresh figs!! Congrats on your success!!

My husband just got blood work results, his triglycerides are way too high for a 45 year old. Hopefully this puts a little worry in him so he starts making better choices with food and alcohol. It would be really nice to have him to do this journey with.

I will say that every time I've worked on eating healthy and getting to my goal weight, my husband starts doing the same even though I never say anything to him about it! You can't force your husband to make better choices, but setting a great example is an amazing motivator!!!

I do better (assuming those is about wanting some yummy food) when I tell myself you can eat whatever you want. You are choosing to eat a smaller portion and savor it or another food but it is always my choice! New healthy habits are hard to create! It gets easier with practice!

The more you say it the better you get at it, but even better is to choose something else instead. Sometimes just drinking a glass of water will make the "no, not that" easier! I find a glass of V8 juice works great to kill my appetite when I'm craving something.

Yesterday the power went out. My family spent the whole day watching movies and eating carbs because I wouldn’t let anyone open the refrigerator because the food would spoil. Everyone complained how tired we were last night even after doing nothing all day. What we eat definitely makes a difference in how we feel. Today is going to be a veggie/protein day for sure.

My daughter who is the same height as me and is 13 is the same weight as me. As the primary caregiver, I feel guilty I have taught her bad habits. I talked with her and told her our whole family needs to make changes. Her brother is very thin but that doesn’t mean healthy. We went online and found some new cookbooks for some inspiration.

Yes I think framing it as healthy eating is better than losing weight. Kids that young can get wrapped up in their weight easily and then that carries on with them.

Good for you!!! Same here. Trying to teach healthy habits. The instant loss cookbooks are great! We talk about eating real food and fueling our body. Being strong, healthy, well is the goal. I’ve tried talking more about how proud I am of progress, how good I feel when I work out and what I do love about my body — kids listened. I stopped being so negative when I realized the self defeating talk can be passed on too.
