The second vax has kicked my butt. Body aches, fever, no energy, most of the day in bed Friday, hoping to get up and do some things today. But right now I'm headed back to bed.

I'm glad to get safe from the virus, but this has been hell to go through......

Rest & hydrate. You’ll be good in a few days.

  • Keto day 106

    Officially down 50lbs since January 1, 2021.
It's a good step in the right direction.

Today I made tomato and cheese stuffed chicken breast with a Caesar salad on the side.

    Preheat the oven to 400°F.

I diced up a handful of grape tomatoes. Mixed them with 3oz softened cream cheese , a bout a cup of shredded cheddar, and a couple shakes of louisiana hot sauce.

I butterfly'd the chicken breast, put the tomato and cheese mixture on one half and folded it back together.

I seasoned both sides with cajun seasoning and placed it in a lightly oiled rimmed baking dish.

I cooked it for 20 minutes.

This is a super easy recipe, done in under a half hour, and always delicious!

Up before 5am this morning to take my daughter for outpatient surgery (she’s doing great—I know some of you wonderful people would have asked about her!).

I haven’t wanted to exercise this week and kept talking myself out of going today even though I needed it. I had a ready-made excuse because of my daughter! So instead I mowed the lawn, mostly without using the self-propelled feature. Wow! I’d forgotten how many calories I could burn just mowing the lawn!

On top of that, I fired my lawn guy today. I’ll do it myself from now on, save the money for our Grand Canyon trip, and get some exercise at the same time!

  • Happy Friday! Another busy day with a still sore arm so indoor walk for 40 min and pedaling my little elliptical until I hit 10k steps today!

Still lots to do today, I hope you're all doing great and planning for a solid weekend... can you believe we're halfway through April already?!

Nice!! That’s a great strategy with putting your hand on your knee. Thanks for the info.

I got one of those for Christmas, maybe I should take it out of the box

Yesterday was a cold, rainy day. So I decided it would be a lazy day. I figured as long as I closed my rings on my Apple Watch (the move ring is set to 1200 calories) I would be fine. Evening rolled around and I still wasn't feeling it, but figured I needed to get going soon. 1200 isn't chump change. Still it was 8:30pm before I got serious. Then I thought "I only have 700 cals left to burn (500 done throughout the day running errands and doing some cleaning) maybe I'll just play around on Wii Fit or do an exercise video or two. I just need to close my rings. Don't even care about my steps today. Steps...steps...Why does that ring a bell? Oh CRAP! I'm in a Stepbet marathon and there are no free days! I need to get in 11,000 more steps before midnight!!" My lazy day turned into a grumpy 10k walk on the treadmill. That was a close call. I've never done a Stepbet Marathon before and keep forgetting there are no freebies for the next 7 weeks.

Glad you got it in!

Mary K.

Yay you for getting it done!!!! I’m in 3 overlapping StepBet marathons so I know I’m walking everyday. The problem is remembering how many steps! Next up is a Recovery game and a FlexStepBet game. Someone just posted about forgetting another game’s weigh-in - I live in fear that I’ll forgot to sync my steps one day. It’s so easy to do (to forget)!!!

Congratulations!!! Do you use Zwift?

Lani T.

Jackie, if you haven't tried it yet, I really recommend doing the Tour of Watopia rides. The E group is for beginners and it's a great place to ask questions (easier if you use the Companion app). Week 4 ends tomorrow and then there's one more week left of the tour

Very sad day today. My FIL, who lives many states away, peacefully passed. He was a month shy of his 93rd birthday. I am grateful that my husband was able to spend time with his dad and mom just a couple of weeks ago.

As I was reading through posts tonight, I laughed over someone saying that they had thrown out week old pizza and how that was a first for them. It is a real victory when we get to the point that we realize the cost of throwing out unhealthy food is far less than the cost of prescription drugs and medical care for ‘lifestyle diseases’ like hypertension and Type 2 diabetes. I really need to scrutinize every single item in my shopping cart and ask does this help me or hurt me?

I have been in a bit of a slump lately and have only lost a pound since our April 1 weigh-in. I had a very stern talk with myself and know that I need to take this journey more seriously than I currently am. Every day that I don’t commit 110% is a day I will never get back — there are no “do overs”. I don’t expect perfection from myself but that doesn’t mean I can’t strive for it.

Sorry for the rambling... so much buzzing around in my brain tonight.

So sorry for your loss, Susie. (My phone just tried to autocorrect your name to sunshine - what a lovely pet name that could be!) Remember to show yourself kindness during this time. Rooting for you!

Jessica MM

You have my condolences, Susie.

I like your wording of needing to scrutinize your grocery cart items and asking yourself if it helps or hurts. That’s going to stick with me.

Take care

  • Hey friends, late post from me today. It's been a day! I didn't sleep well, ran a mild fever overnight. My arm is really sore so I did an indoor walk for 30 min and called that activity!

It was a busy day of work, I also had 2 interviews for a new position at my company. The position has a lot of travel involved which is exciting but also intimidating. Trying to focus on the positives and embrace the changes!

I fit into my business casual clothes today, that's my NSV😊 I thought I looked nice even though I didn't feel that great... antibodies are worth a few days of blah!

So excited for you - for the job, the NSV clothes, the vaccine! You're rockin' life!

Congrats on the NSV Sheri!! Best of luck on the two interviews. That’s great.

Eek! I made goal for one of my kickstarters. Didn't make the one on Tuesday, but somehow miraculously made this one. Soooo happy! I've worked so hard this week to try and fight these hormones and water retention. I was so ready to log my losing weigh out. I was shocked I was under!! I'm also below goal for this round now. Heading to Vegas this evening for 5 days. My husband and I have already discussed making healthier food choices while there, so hoping to not derail just because I'm on vacation.
Have a wonderful weekend all!

Great job on making weight!
Vegas is my favorite town to eat in!! :yum: So, I will not be giving you restaurant suggestions because they won't help your goals! Lol  enjoy your time! Lots of walking though, so that's good :grinning:

I thought what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas?? Does that not pertain to weight gain??:joy:

Enjoy your trip!! I love Vegas!

  • Anyone have a condiment that you are just crazy about?

We’re serious about guacamole in our house. It’s the perfect topper for a breakfast egg scramble, southwest Chicken Salad, or snack with veggies! Full of healthy fat this is one condiment you won’t want to pass on! Check out the recipe and some other super yummy recipes on my website: instantloss.com/b…

This is seriously the only guacamole I make now. I mix up the seasonings and store them in ziplock bags so I always have it ready when I need it

Anna S.

Balsamic vinegar. I have different flavors and it’s my go to for salads.
