I’ve come up with plenty of excuses this month, but I’ll stop whining and learn from my poor choices and move forward! Not a good weight loss month, but I’ll make better and healthier decisions in May.

Oh boy… I have a trail mix problem. I bought a very salty Asian trail mix from Aldi. I can’t control my portions there. Let’s just say it’s all water weight, but I put on 7 lbs over 4 days!!! Lesson learned: don’t have trail mix in the house!!

I’m the same with trail mix! My kids have started enjoying it so I try to pretend we don’t have it! I will eat a small amount when I give it to them, but then put it back! But to your point I have found there are certain things I just can’t have it my house anymore!

Is anyone else not doing any exercise at all? I know I should at least walk for my health, even if I wasn’t trying to lose weight. But I just can’t find the time.weightloss is at least 90% diet anyway.

I rarely exercise. I know I should, but I don't. All about the calorie count!


I watched a Ted Talk about time. If you were you make an hourly chart of your week, you would find time. The battle is in your head. The tiny voice that keeps telling you there isnt enough time or you're too tired or that task is more important. To make it easier I would say start super small. Literally pick a day and walk for 5 minutes. It can be 2.5min from your house and back. Keep doing it and gradually add more. Suddenly you'll find you had time and want to make time to take care of yourself.

  • Is anybody else living for the longer days and 'false spring' (because we all know March has one more snowfall in her...) we've been having? I took a walk to my favourite green space today. Read a book. Felt the sun hit my face. Now I'm rolling out my yoga mat with the windows open, and the birds chirping outside. It's been a hard winter, but goals feel easier when it's sunny out.

We had a little bit of false spring in Wyoming last week. It was in the 50s for 3 days or so. But winter returned over the weekend, and we usually get at least one huge blizzard in March or April.
I agree. It's easier when the sun is out.

  • In a moment of weakness ate at least 2 servings of cheetos puffs Friday night (why are those things so dang delicious?!?!). Made up for it today with a 10 mile trail run in the Arizona desert! Spectacular saguaro cactus views made it so enjoyable!
