  • Naked and afraid worked pretty well. I stayed on target but felt more like I was just eating meat than eating smarter. So this month I'm trying the IF aspect along with low carb.

I prepaid the whole game. I haven't weighed in yet but after Easter, a wake, and 2 bdays this weekend I'm scared to weigh in. What happens if I miss it? Am I out?

If you don't make the weigh in target for this month you can still keep going as long as you make the target for May. You just don't share in the third pot.

  • Day 5 in the jungle and last night was rice, chicken, corn, and tomato. Today was pork loin with brussel sprouts left over from the other day. My apps say I'm well into a calorie deficit and my carbs are under 100 daily.
    No lbs lost yet but NSV, I'm running into keto flu (boo) but also my bloat is way less (yay).

I'm not sure the difference between gross and net carbs. I'll have to keep learning. I just know I have been getting my carbs from veggies and one daily allowed biscuit or rice.

Total carbs is the total amount of carbs for any given food and net is the total carbs minus the fiber (and sugar alcohols/allulose, if you have those listed as well). So if total carbs was 10 and fiber was 4, net carbs would be 6.

But yes, if what you’re doing is working for you so far then it sounds like you don’t need to worry to much about all this :)

Spinach and Kale have loads of oxalates. They are objectively bad for you. They are leaves people. Don’t eat leaves. We weren’t meant to eat leaves.

Avocados make sense because they’re a fruit.

Also fiber leads to gut issues, so I intake no fiber.

  • My son and I completed a 4 week ab challenge today! Sit-ups, crunches, leg raises, and planks, escalating daily, resulting in us doing a 2 minute plank today and we survived! Very glad it’s over so I can get back to more normal workout habits, but also proud that we did it.

Thanks for your support everyone. I took your advice and I'm going to focus on just making healthy choices, even if I don't have the energy to track, I don't want to comfort eat or binge. If I maintain and get back on the horse that's still a win. I'm going to try to slowly get back into it from this weekend on and I might lose the round but I'll still be doing what's best for my wellbeing. I've about 10lbs to win the game, 12lbs to be a healthy weight, and about 20lbs to my end goal. I wanted to get to my end goal by the end but it would just mean so much to be a healthy weight again and that's just a pound a week...

  • Day 3 of imaginary naked and afraid. I've made a shopping trip (hunt) for protein and veg dense foods and am drinking more water.
    Since coke, chips, and donuts don't grow in the wild my snacking is minimal. Plus more protein rich foods satiate my sugar tooth anyways.
    My kids/fiance have each picked a number between 12-18 and it's been a fun challenge to complete each fast.
    Don't worry, I'm not starving or naked. Just trying to make it fun.

  • Well the streak of 90min/day on the elliptical ended today at 45. My left calf was a little iffy today and after 31 minutes on the elliptical I could tell I was doing more damage to it.

    In a way I’m happy to be free of the streak. I’m now going to branch out and use both the stair climber and rowing machines to break up the monotony until I get my weight to a level that I’m comfortable running at again.

    Im still on a streak of 57 consecutive days going to the gym; I don’t see that streak ending anytime soon!

Tracking meals and IF on zero. Decided to gamify naked and afraid. I'm now in a warm jungle surrounded by ample clean water 💦 . my granddaughter will pick a number between 12-20 every night and that's how long I'll fast before I catch my next meal. Not extreme but it'll keep me logging things in.

I’m not sure what game that is but sounds cool. I wouldn’t personally fast for more than 16 hours as it’s not truely needed but good luck

There's a TV show called naked and afraid where survivalists are dropped naked in locations to survive 21 days. They normally don't eat for most of it but make shelters and stuff. This is nothing that intense, just a roll the dice of whether I eat after 14 hours or 18. Plus I can only eat what I could imaginary hunt and gather so no donuts or pasta. So far doing great and kids are interested cause it's a game, not a boring mom diet.
