Snuck in a walk on my conference call today. Felt great to get some activity in while still participating. I read this interesting article about how you can sneak in ‘snack size’ bites of exercise while working.. what a cool approach!

That's a great idea!

Looking for encouragement to stay in the game. I've gained 3 pounds back from my Round 1 weigh-in. No energy. Had my thyroid bloodwork done again and my TSH is way up. Doctor is upping my levothyroxin as of today. I am so down that I didn't even bother weighing in for Round 2. All I desire is bread, pasta, and ice cream..... finding comfort in food, I suppose.

Sorry to hear, that sounds like a rough deal and understand you want to have comfort food. I sabotaged myself in round 2 but drew a line in the sand and am really focused for Round 3. My energy is up and skin is better so feeling more motivated. I’d say take care of yourself first and foremost, this is a journey. It’s not starting again, it’s just getting back to the ‘main road’ after taking a detour. I’ll stop with the bad analogies now

Thank you, Rebecca! I am doing much better now - down 2 lbs since last week. I'm going to try my best and hardest for Round three. Your words and empathy were so appreciated. Thanks :)

  • So frustrating. Why in a matter of days I'm up 3 lbs. I just had to lay off 7 people at work. Stress is making me not hungry but then when I do eat it's not the smartest choices. Pizza at my parents house ( 2 slices), over ate on nacho night and my late night cravings has been getting to me. But here's the thing. Dietbet keeps me accountable and helps me focus on my health goals! If not for me, I try my hardest for my son who's 9 and I'm 44. Need to keep up with him!!!

Pizza has such long comfortable arms to wrap ourselves up in for sure! We have been doing mini roasted vegetable pizzas once a week with a super thin crust so you can still have some and not have it destroy your plan. I usually supplement with a salad and protein and can still feel good about it.

Anita H.

Trisha.. things will get better. You had a rough week but you have a lot of positives in your life.. I mean look at that sweet face next to you!

I'm in, too! I went kayaking this afternoon and will bike a few times next week. That'll do until I win that Peloton! :)

It’s hard to believe we’re two months in - it feels like it’s been a long time but it is also flying by!

Early this year I tucked away all my jeans at the top of the guest room closet because none of them were comfortable to wear anymore (too tight) and was wearing dresses and skirts to work everyday instead. Because of coronavirus I’ve been working from home for a bit over three months and wearing pjs or leggings on the bottom, and today was the first time I dug those jeans out. They fit! They feel great!

I’m within 5 lbs of the size I was when my bf and I started dating 3 years ago, and to be able to wear jeans and feel comfortable makes me so happy. If I hadn’t signed up for this 6-month game I would not have continued to make healthy changes - I would have given up long ago. These 2 months have been rewarding and I’m looking forward to continued slow and steady progress over the next 4!

Guys I can’t tell you how helpful reading your posts have been. I had been stalled but I started doing some IF after celebrating your successes with you and it appears to be working! Woot Woot!

Just finished my 5 mile walk. Had to get an early start. Starting to warm up round here and it only gets harder later in the day.

Nice! I got one in late today.. before it got dark. I’ve committed to 20 miles of deliberate walks or runs per week this month. I did a streak last month with a local group and haven’t missed a day yet!

  • I have been so excited this year to finally be getting the right mentality and motivation to lose weight. My whole life I have struggled with weight and am so over it! I am almost at the 40lb down mark since January of this year. Each month I have been so excited to mark on the calendar 15 lbs down 6 lbs down ect. This month I will have to put in a gain. The last two weeks I have not been as focused and have gained almost 6 lbs! ??????????????😢 it is so frustrating because it’s not like I am binge eating or eating entire cakes 🎂. But not watching my water as much since I am out more and don’t have a bathroom close by, not eating as good as I could be and my baby turned a year old and quit breast feeding. So I think it’s just a combination of everything. I hate having to enter a gain and hate even more that I back slid! Will have to weigh in officially tomorrow because I was so mad at my self this morning I didn’t do it. Just got to figure out how to refocus and drop what I gained in May and lose more for June to make up for a lost month! 😢

Your body seems like its adjusting to a lot of changes (routine.. hydration.. lactation). Just give it some tlc.. you’ll get back on track... you just need to figure out this new phase.

Cathy H.

I don't know if you have ever gone through a major weight loss before, but this is VERY common. Weight tends to come off more slowly as you continue when compared to your first start. The key is NOT giving up. Look for non-scale victories and track those too. If you haven't already, take some "before" pictures. (Yes, they are embarrassing, but you will be so glad you have them later when you reached your goal just to prove how far you have come.). Also take measurements. I wouldn't call this a plateau yet, but if you are in one start tracking calories with a food scale and make sure you are eating a a deficit. Or confuse your body by adding in some tougher exercise. Good luck!

Had the perfect weather for my run this morning.. was planning 6 miles but then I thought why not just do the extra 0.2 and complete your own 10k? So I did! 😁
