    Hit 2 of my 3 goals for July. Due to some foot injuries, I didn't hit my run miles goal (115 miles), but I went 80 miles over on walking. And averaged 20k steps a day for my second month in a row.

    I miss a few stretch sessions and a few days of step count. What I did do is a 30 mile day and broke my single day step count record!

    Next month will be shooting for 75 running (faster avg pace), more consistent stretching, 21k steps per day no more than 2 days of missing step count!

I completed my 100th kickboxing class, sumitted a 14er, and I'm only a pound away from my goal for this round. :-)


Lost 8.2 lbs for the month. Happy with that! I logged my food every day. I have increased my running distance. (I've never been a runner, but am loving it now, and ran 2.5 miles without stopping for the first time ever. It's HUGE for me. I am shooting for a 5k by the end of August.) I started with a personal trainer the 13th and that's going really well. I'm crushing the goals she's giving me.

I am so close to my round 2 goal! And then realized I'm out camping this weekend when I'm supposed to weigh in. Guess I'll have to pack this scale and hope I find a flat surface!

Had a rough weekend. Ended a toxic relationship 8 months ago...and finally porch dropped him the last of his stuff this weekend. And fell into some wine... a few bottles. Have to remind myself of who I was before and move beyond...back to the healthy ME. Whatever the reason for YOUR journey, YOU are worth it! Don't lose sight of that!

  • Decided to listen to my body and call it at 22 miles. I could have walked the last 4.2, but that wasn't the point. Had a great day and way over 40k steps today. With a 20 minute/mile pace for the first 7 (hiking with my girlfriend), I crushed the next 15 miles! I averaged an 11:30 over 15 miles!

    I am 10# lighter right now than I was when I weighed in a week ago. That means I need to hydrate and eat a great lunch and dinner. I would say I am about 5# down since this diet bet began. I have run roughly 40 miles this week

    I start work travel next week, and that may slow me down, but no one can say I'm not hustling

Lets talk about Work Travel

I work from home 70% and Travel the country the other 30%. I start my work travel for projects (while social distancing). My problem in the past has been maintaining my eating habits while in Airports, Hotels and Travelling.

I workout at Hotel Gyms, Run where ever I am, but for some reason, I eat so much worse while travelling.

HOW DO YOU MAINTAINING YOUR HEALTHY EATING WHILE TRAVELING? Grocery Shopping instead of dining out? Is there a brand/chain with healthy options that you love?

I agree with the above. Stay somewhere where you can make your own food. And it doesn't have to be fancy. If that doesn't work for you, then if you have to eat out, eat food that has the lower number of calories. If it's over 800 calories a serving, then only eat HALF and save the rest for later.

My fiancé is a pilot so I have explored a ton of options!
We also consulted a dietician for assistance. Here are some tips that we have found helpful:

* stay places where a healthy breakfast is available. Make sure you are getting a nice amount of protein to start your day.
* load on veggies and protein when possible
* if you don’t want to cook, pack meal prep items- we have an amazing company in our home town that does vac packed meals
* water, water water! Most airports have refill stations now so you can pack your own water
* if you stay somewhere when cooking your meals, a lot of grocery stores have delivery now! Plan the meals ahead of time
*Avoid liquor

Lastly, plan- failing to plan is the biggest component because it makes it easy to grab the wrong food. Explore the areas you are in so exercise is fun!

  • Keeping the blinds open to let the morning light in was a game changer. I woke up at 5:30am, got a 25 minute stretch in and went f0r a morning run!

    As it gets hotter, I will need to run earlier. I prefer running in the cold and low light (I'm a ginger, and burn easily)

I used to get up at 4:30 for kickboxing.... don't think my neighbors would appreciate the noise that early... Lol. Morning runs for sure now! Better outdoors than the treadmill. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:


I am a server in a restaurant and work nights (Well... I did, until mid-March, that is.) so I get out late and don't get up extra early. I've been trying, during the pandemic, to maintain my normal sleep schedule. It's actually been a challenge to stay up as late when there's so little to do, but I read A LOT, so that helps. So... bed around 11:30, up around 8:30, ease into my morning and get a walk of 3 miles or so and a workout (either strength training or circuit) by noon. :)
