Here to celebrate a few NSVs: I lose weight from the exterior inwards, and lately I have noticed my fingers, and forearms and calves look way slimmer, plus my shoulders have slimmed down. I am able to lift a bit heavier and workout more consistently. I have been sticking to my morning meditation habit. I have been strong in the face of work candy. My clothes are fitting a teeny bit better.
I am 3.4 lbs away from finally breaking a huge plateau, so trying to stay positive!

By some miracle, I'm where I was at the beginning of the month this morning (a good thing; the scale has been ticking up). I suspect it's dehydration and won't last. I wore a mask this week after I was well enough to go back to work, and that kept me from drinking as much water.

Still, it's an encouraging number. I was thinking of just taking a break for all of March and trying again starting in April, but maybe there's a chance.

I simply have no energy, though. Big things changed at work that are keeping me up all night, it's a busy time for student events that I have to supervise, there have been birthdays and funerals and upheavals, and there will be more in the coming weeks.

I haven't even *opened* the letter I got from my pen pal last week. Maybe that will be my treat today... after my German meeting and the laundry and the family event and the research and preparation for a brand new unit...

A big hug for you with all those spinning plates...don't forget to give yourself a moment to breathe

Sorry that you have a lot on your plate at the moment. I would love to encourage you that every day that you make good choices is a day that is establishing a positive habit for the future. Hang in there and know you have a bunch of cheerleaders here for ya! :)

Why do I self sabotage?! I felt so great when I hit last goal, was so proud I’d done it. Zero desire to purge. Then two days after was a different sorry, fell off track for an entire week. Gained 4lbs of luckily it wasnt fat but thats how it happens!

Honestly.. it's something to think about. I never thought I was self sabotaging. But over the past year I'd lose 6lbs and gain it and lose it and gain it. That 6lb mark was where I started to feel like my old self, and I realised I was regaining because I was scared to be that outgoing, visible person again, nothing to do with the weight. But it made my conscious of the fact I'm keeping myself in the "safe" bubble I made after a difficult time in my life. It's hard to think about but at least now I can recognise it

Stephanie W.

I do this too - I think a few of us had a conversation last month about how there is this “mid month slump” that just seems to happen. We can’t keep up perfect intensity all the time.

  • Day 3 of imaginary naked and afraid. I've made a shopping trip (hunt) for protein and veg dense foods and am drinking more water.
Since coke, chips, and donuts don't grow in the wild my snacking is minimal. Plus more protein rich foods satiate my sugar tooth anyways.
My kids/fiance have each picked a number between 12-18 and it's been a fun challenge to complete each fast.
Don't worry, I'm not starving or naked. Just trying to make it fun.

A friend inspired me to try Bollywood dance. And I am seeing great shifts both in my inches and mood! I have joined a 7 weeks Bollywood dance class, just to try something new.

I re- started today my exact meal planning for the next day. Just did it for tomorrow. This helps me to stay consistent. And I will do dinner- cancelling (in fact, it's intermittent fasting) again.
Both not really new but it's a restart after having been a little too 'relaxed' for some weeks.
Something really new, I'll start tomorrow is meditating with a meditation app. Today, I loaded it on my phone.

  • A pretty radical NSV that I'm very happy to be able to share. I had never really thought about eating my way to becoming diabetic, that was for really really fat people, but then sudden I was one of those really really fat people... and it became a very sudden reality last year.

I developed very severe sleep apnea last year that resulted in a pretty rapid weight gain (on top of the excess 100ish I was already carrying). An absolute and cumulative exhaustion and lacking the capacity to do much more than order takeaways a lot of the time was a pretty strange and debilitating torture.

I'm so glad to now have a CPAP machine since late December that allows me restful, uninterrupted sleep and the brain space and energy to prepare food and move my body again.

Slow and steady, no more bullshit plans, no over restriction and then inevitable binging or quitting. Realistic expectations and regular goals.

Consistency not perfection. Keep at it!

I’m thankful that my cold has finally gone away. I don’t know why but this season has been the worst with colds. I never get a fever or body aches but twice I’ve had long cold symptoms that seem to never go away. It’s difficult to work out when I have them. I’m eating healthy and taking vitamins, I don’t understand why I keep getting them (I am a teacher so I’m exposed to a lot though). Here’s hoping it’s done

  • Finally broke into the 170s!!! My weight is at 179.4 this morning. Been really locking it in, tracking my nutrition, and getting this workouts in the past 4 days. Just gotta keep that fire going all month!

Also here’s a pic of last night’s dinner. Lettuce wrapped cheeseburger and sweet potato. 😋
