  • Hi! I’m Bethany, I’m 25 and am currently living in Seattle. I found Syd’s IG at the start of my weight loss journey. Now that I’m 20lbs down, I FINALLY am joining one of her dietbets. I’m super excited to continue to work hard and challenge myself. My goal for 2020 is to be more consistent with workouts and have exercise be a joyful routine in my day.

I can already tell that this is the year for some BIG changes for us all :). Before I dive into the prizes, let me introduce myself. Biggest goals are that I finish my final semester of school this year and I’m super excited! Also looking to add another half marathon medal to the books! And the obvious of shed some pounds and look killer in the process! :heart_eyes::heart:

Was out of town for Thanksgiving and my birthday. I didn’t give it my all. But this morning I did my HIIT workout and some extra cardio and stretching. Sticking to goals for the weeks to come! 👏

A lot of people say “lost the water weight” or “I gained a few pounds, but some is likely water weight”. I’m curious. How do you know when the weight you’ve lost or gained is water weight?

Water weight tends to fluctuate drastically from day to day. True weight (fat) loss is usually incremental and consistent on a day to day basis, much lower (think ounces rather than pounds or kg).

It takes 3500 calories beyond daily needs to gain a pound of fat storage, same deficit to lose a pound. Unless I ate 5000 calories the day before, if I gain a pound overnight I know some of that is just water retention from extra carbs or salt. Ditto if I lose a pound overnight. Also I can tell in my face if I am poofy :-)

Was 70% to my goal. Now I’m pushed back to 51% after a weekend of not sticking to my goals. Not going to feel defeated. Weekends count too! As much as I’d love them not to. Happy Monday everyone! Let’s dominate these next two weeks!
