Has anyone that has the membership actually won any of the weekly prizes? Because they say people won but don't tell you who and I'm just wondering if people actually do win them?! Haha

can we do a "where are you from ?" maybe we can find some tribe members near to each other and really make waves in 2019. I'll start. I live in southern New Hampshire on the Vermont and Massachusetts borders.

I really have no idea how to eat during this time frame, I exercise a lot and have built up muscle tone-but am still carrying a lot of fat. I’m going to diligently track food and limit added sugar. Any other tips? I am wary of so called diets,

Ditto to what Addie said... drink water and make (mostly) healthy choices. i also use and highly recommend the LoseIt! app. It has worked so much better for me than myfitnesspal. I do not eliminate anything that is typically labeled “bad,” nor do I follow a “diet.” I eat a well-balanced diet that includes a wide variety of protein sources, lots of veggies and fruit, and that also occasionally includes things like bread, potatoes, pizza, and dessert. I log everything I eat, and as long as I don’t go over my calorie budget, everything just falls into place. The water thing is easy for me, because i actually prefer water over any other beverage. But basically, ever since I gave up dieting, started eating what I wanted (in reasonable amounts) and started tracking through LoseIt!, the weight and inches have not stopped falling off. For me, when I used to follow food “rules”, I would do great for a while, but then I would get frustrated and end up going on a mad binge. You have to do what works for you, and if you want to maintain after hitting goals, it really needs to be something you can do for life. That’s why I don’t diet. There is literally no diet that has ever resulted in permanent weight loss for me.

Do we weigh in weekly?

You can, but its not needed. The only weigh ins that are required and that means anything are the first weigh in and the last weigh in. They are the only two official weigh ins and you MUST summit them on time.

If you participate in the optional membership, you must submit progress weigh ins weekly to be eligible for the prize drawings. Good luck!

I wanted to pass on the app Happy Scale. It tracks your more natural weight loss progression. Taking into account the normal ups and downs, showing your trend.

I just started using Happy Scale, and I love it!!

I’m very self-competitive so being able to set and visually see your goals (like with Diet Bet) really works for me!

I've been trying to hold it all together for too long. Over the last two years I've had medical issues that made me miss work and fall way behind on bills. I had a friend move in to help with bills and that "friend" moved with one week notice about 4 months ago and left me hanging financially.

I am working two jobs, seven days a week and I'm still falling more and more behind on bills. I'm in school and I couldn't afford to pay any of my tuition this semester. If I don't pay it soon, they wont let me register for next semester, and next semester is all I need to graduate. I am my brother's guardian and have to spend a lot of time helping him at his apartment with laundry and groceries, etc.

All of this just crushed in on me last night driving home from my brother's and I began having a panic attack. I was having a hard time breathing and was crying and it felt scary.

I really couldn't afford to pay for this dietbet, but I feel like a lot of my health issues would be minimized with losing weight. And now that I have spent the money, I HAVE TO WIN. I literally can't afford to lose. And I'm so upset that I totally splurged on pizza and dessert etc yesterday in my emotional breakdown.

I've been cleaning the house all day and drinking water. And I have to get out the door to work soon. I drive for Uber and Lyft for one of my jobs and I have to make at least $75 to $100 a day to day above water. Please pray for me.

I am praying for you. I’ve had panic attacks and it’s no fun at all. God bless you for caring for your brother and working so hard on your goals.

Valerie R.

Thank you for all your responses and prayers. I'm taking it one day at a time. I don't think I will be winning this dietbet, but my sister was inspired to join and I think she's going to make it so that's something to be grateful for right now. Not giving up.

Does anyone else want to lose weight simply so that you don't have to do gymnastics to use the restroom in these tiny little public stalls?

And why do they always have extra room on one side while on the other side the feminine trash container and/or toilet paper dispenser is actually touching your leg???

Chances of you changing your outside for the better are good.
Chances of him changing his insides for the better are poor. You're way better off than that unhappy jerk.

The nerve of that man! Beyond rude! You just ignore him as you know what you are doing to take care of yourself. And by the way in your photo I think that you are absolutely beautiful! Keep at it and we are here for you!

Good morning all! I’ve been trying to walk more so before I go to work I’ve started walking the dog. Today is the third night that I’m so sore I can barely stand and my legs and feet just feel like they are going to cramp up at any minute. Has anyone else ever felt this? Any tips to make it better?

I agree with Lemon-Strawberry. It’s okay to let your body rest, and in fact, it’s important to do so. If you are in that much pain, your body needs some recovery. It’s perfectly okay to ease into a new routine and let your body adjust. Instead of every day, you can do 2-3 days a week to start. When we are feeling super motivated, we tend to be a little more gung-ho than our bodies are prepared for. We want to go from sedentary to extremely active overnight. For some of us, that’s just not realistic. We are all different with different abilities and limitations. Low levels of potassium, magnesium, and even calcium can contribute to leg cramps. Muscle cramps can also be caused by dehydration and overexertion. So keep yourself properly hydrated and give your leg muscles time to adjust to the increased activity.

Miranda H.

Thank you all for the tips! I’m definitely going to use them to try to help. It probably doesn’t help that I work two jobs. My day job I sit all day and evenings and weekends I’m on my feet. Before I work on the weekends I was trying to rest but it never seems to be an option when that’s the only time I have to do certain things. I was just hoping that this was short lived and would go away. I’ve changed my diet and went from 3 sodas a day to 0 which has seemed to help. I’m wondering if sometimes the rest periods in between are too long so my legs aren’t building up muscle like they should so they won’t be so sore.
