  • Diet Bet Rituals:
    The first week I concentrate on eating my favorite healthy food- the pricey stuff or things that take longer to cook. Exercise comes next week, and the initial abstinence makes me sort of into it. Those are my rituals. How do you get started?

Same. For me, the nutrition has to come first. I tend to add exercise toward the end of round one or beginning of round two.


It’s 80% nutrition fur sure. I found fasting and it’s my super power now. I eat 95% carnivore and it doesn’t vary a huge bit. Any meat, but mostly burgers and steak, I love wings so I need a ton of those and Polish sausage with some shrimp and crab thrown in plus cheeses and delicious creamy coffees. I’m a yoga instructor so yoga But I am getting back to being serious about my peloton bike and I’m starting that today

About 3 years ago I started my weight loss journey at 302 pounds. I have since lost 140 pounds and have been able to keep it off for over 2 years. How's everyone doing with Round 1 so far? I think I'm doing OK, and will hopefully make my goal for this round next week. I've been doing Intermittent Fasting for the last 3 weeks and am pretty close to my 3% for this round. Started incorporating walks last week, about 1.5 miles per day. Lots of slow but steady things I need to incorporate to get back into good habits!

I got back on IF this week and forgot how much I love it!


Alex, you can really decide how to do your own IF schedule. I don't follow it now because I wake up hangry and I'm breastfeeding so I have to be careful, but I've been trying not to eat anything after dinner.
Anyway, Chalene Johnson actually had some helpful info online a few years back when I started, but I'm sure there are tons of resources now. There are a lot of people that have 6 hour eating windows, but I could never practically do that. You have to consider your work schedule, workout times, etc and then just try it. There's no set right or wrong. Good luck!

Jessica, I track my macros. So I base it on nutritional value. I took tuperware containers and each one represents something different like: Carbs, Protein, Fats, Veggies, fruits. They are smaller containers and vary based on what I want to limit and what I want to maximize nutritionally. Ill take the appropriate one, put it on the scale, zero it out, fill it with what I want to eat and then log it into my nutrition app by weight. That holds me accountable to make sure what I'm eating really is an appropriate number of calories and has nutritional value.
I overeat horribly so its like trying to reteach my mind and eyes to understand correct portions. It works though! And its pretty fast and easy!
