#TattooThursday

Here’s one of my many new tattoos, courtesy of my dermatologist visit today. Purple dots all over. She marked a lot but narrowed it down to the four most concerning ones to biopsy today, cause your girls not made of money. I should get the results back in the next two weeks. I’m trying not to be afraid until I know there’s something to be afraid of, but I’ve put this visit off for the past 15 years because I have felt if I went they would surely find something. Crazy you came out with that news today of all days, King. I’m so sorry that you’re dealing with that right now. I’m sending you all the good vibes I can muster today and hoping the positivity stays in the air and trickles back on to me in the next couple weeks.

The tattoo is a poorly done memorial for my nephew. I was an angry 20 year old who thought this might help. Lol


I do a poor job letting other people see the vulnerable sides of me. I wanted to share this with y’all because so many people here are transparent and I want to keep it real. I have had a spot in my skin that has grown pretty aggressively since last year so I was encouraged to have it looked at. (Pretty rough family history with skin cancer including losing my uncle to it)
Last week I went to the specialist for a biopsy and have since learned that it is cancer. It sounds worse than it is, and they think it was caught early enough to be cut out. I go next week for that knife work. I could use all the prayers and good vibes you could spare. It’s been a pretty tough season.

#tattoothursday tattoo number 5 of 8. It’s the provincial flower of Newfoundland, which is where my husband grew up, and then his initials below that. (Before you tell me it’s a terrible idea to get your SO’s name on you in case you break up, he died several years ago, this was in memory of him).

My most recent of my eight tattoos. It’s a stork to represent my surrogacies-I’ve been a gestational surrogate twice, and am just at the beginning stages of a third time (partly why I need to lose weight-I’m above the fertility clinic’s BMI limit currently 😬)
