Work has messed me up mentally so I haven’t been on my game this month so I’m not making it.. planning to refocus especially with the warmer weather and longer days and make it for the next round

Don’t give up!

Lani T.

Yes, it'll be a bit easier as the weather gets warmer and the monthly goals are smaller. Keep on going!

  • Missed over a week of workouts with Aunt Flo and a shitty work schedule.. finished week 2, day 3 and 4 of Liift4 today.. I usually gain at least 5lbs during that time and I did, finally got that off and a few more.. hoping to meet the goal at the end of the month but not sure how it’s going to go..
Made some high protein mini pancakes/muffins (about 40 cals and 5g of protein each) and have chili in the crockpot

  • Does anyone else do a weight loss chart and/or non-food rewards? What are some ideas do you guys have for non-food rewards?

I'm saving my winnings for a new wardrobe at the end of the challenge  you could always add in some new clothes as a reward.

Julie C.

I love to find a new pair of walking/running shoes when I hit my personal goals. I also plan on buying new clothes when I hit my 10% goal.

  • Took me all day to get some motivation but finished Liift4 day 1 of week 2 since Aunt Flo showed up and I’ve been so tired the past week.. it took me until Monday to finish last week but I’m doing it.. in the past I would have given up and started again when it was over

Not a race but I sure wish upping my protein intake didn’t cause so many issue with :poop:. Haven’t lost an ounce in a week because if it.

Why do I lack willpower at the end of the day? I had a very long busy day and when I got home I wanted to “treat myself”. Typically this means ordering takeout and eating a lot. I wish I knew other ways to relax and to treat myself :(

Hot shower with candle light and a cold glass of water or electrolyte drink. I like the hot/cold contrast, it’s like the opposite of drinking hot chocolate after sledding. Then I wrap myself up in a big fluffy towel, not the ones I use for normal shower. I have added a square or two of dark chocolate to this ritual on occasion. It probably sounds really weird but I love it!

Lani T.

It's very common. You're using willpower and mental energy all day and you're depleted by the end if the day. You'll have to figure out what non-food treats you actually like (also consider ways to keep busy like doing a puzzle or some kind of craft) and figure out your triggers (e.g. turning on Netflix after dinner) and come up with strategies to deal with that (pre-package your Netflix snack or drink something non-alcoholic but fancy).

You could also find easy supermarket substitute for the kind of take out you usually get (even pre-made burgers and fries from the supermarket will be fewer calories than a take out version), or find some ultra low effort recipes you like like crockpot/instant pot recipes. Soups, chilis, and other similar things can be made ahead of time and frozen. If you portion them in glass containers you can just pop them in the microwave. There are also a lot of good frozen meal options and if you add veggies (can be done from frozen too) then it's filling enough.

Oh, and consider planning in a fancy treat each week. Not a box of stale oreos from the pantry, but a nice slice of something or a savory pastry from that fancy bakery. Plan it and look forward to it. This can give you more willpower to resist when you know that you have permission to have some fun food later in the week. The permission is the key.

I'm feeling down on myself and so "fat". I did make goal weight for round 1 but have gained since. Today I am going to write down my meals for the next five days ...and get off my ass and exercise. Sunday is the superbowl...maybe a "cheat" day...Go Niners.

I have shifted my mindset around "cheat" days. That language is very negative and feels like license to go crazy off the rails with my eating. Instead, I've started implementing purposeful "refeed" days, where I go a bit above maintenance in a planned/controlled way. Makes me feel in control while also giving me a needed break from my deficit. :)

Dawn B.

I’ve gained since weigh in because Aunt Flo showed.. just trying maintain right now and get back on track when the week is over

Hi everyone. I still have not gotten my points/payout for the first round. And I did win the first round. Does anyone know how I should go about getting that added to my account? TYIA

  • This is one of my absolute favorite Walt quotes because it's a big part of my favorite (and most underrated) movie, Meet the Robinsons...

    Keep Moving Forward.

I think it's great advice for all of us. Round 1 is in the past, we're starting with a fresh slate. Round 2 has already started so keep your eye on the larger prize - your health, which is the biggest goal - and keep moving forward.

How do you feel about Round 1?

What are your goals for this next round?

Feeling awesome about round 1, my blood pressure is down and my pants fit so much better, love it!!

Goal for round 2 is to make healthier family meals and have more family meals at the table together.

Dawn B.

Could have done better so I wasn’t struggling at the end to get to the weigh in weight.. trying to be more consistent this time and with the warmer weather it is helping
I did manage to complete week 1 of Liift4 last week

  • This week has been a rollercoaster with everything.. period/perimenopause, snowstorms/extremely cold weather compared to what we’ve been having, crappy work schedule, and the past couple of days I think I’ve been fighting off a stomach bug..
so taking the weekend to recover and plan meals for next week, signed back up for BODi since they’re having a BOGO sale (buy 1 year get the second free) because I loved Liift4 and wanna do it again.. planning to start that on Monday as well as getting my cardio in at the gym

Sounds like you have a great plan and giving yourself grace.

MomaBina

Yes but no. If you have chronic pain sometimes you're not in control unfortunately but for the most part yes.
