If you successfully logged the number of steps equal to your normal daily step goal or the past seven day average plus an additional 250 extra steps, then comment on this post.



From those who comment, I will randomly select a winner. Only this person will be required to submit verification of his/her steps in order to claim the prize. Verification is as simple as a screenshot from your device's app or website. You can use any type of electronic device to track your steps - Garmin, Polar, Fitbit, Apple Watch, Health Apps on iPhone and Samsung, etc.

You will also need to provide verification of your daily goal, or your seven day average - whichever you used to calculate your step total for the challenge.

 I will notify this person via the email associated with his/her Dietbet account.

This person will then have 24 hours to reply with verification of his/her steps. If no word is received by the deadline, a new winner will be chosen.

With all of the challenges we have going on throughout the next few weeks, it may be hard for some of you to get those steps in. Maybe it's the poor weather outside or the desk job that keeps you saddled for most of the day that prevents you from logging some steps.

Let's talk about all of the various ways you can get steps in without intentional exercise.

Here are a few of mine:

1. Walk or jog in place while you're watching some TV.

2. Be as inefficient as possible. Even if I can bring in all of the groceries or other items in one trip, I still break it up in to multiple.

3. When I am cleaning, I focus on one thing (like dusting for example) and do the whole house. Then go back and do the next thing.

4. The laundry area is right outside our bedroom. When it is time to fold clothes, I take one item out at a time. Fold it. And then put it away. Time consuming, yes. But the steps add up.

5. We have a recycle bin in our kitchen, but I usually will walk out whatever I'm trying to recycle out to the bigger bin out in the garage.

Again, all of these things may not seem like a lot. But when you combine little things like this throughout the day, those steps really do start to add up.

Debating of I'm going to stay in this bet. It'll only be one pound less than another bet I'm in a few days after but this past week I've really been struggling. I had been doing AMAZING since early spring and am hoping beyond hope I can kick this rut. Will see what the next 5 days hold. Sigh. Thanks for reading!

Do you ever have those days when you just don't want to?

Don't want to...
...get out of your warm bed in the morning to work out.
...weigh you food.
...make sure you get those steps in.
...order the grilled chicken.

I could go on...I'm sure you get the point.

When you have those days, what do you do to overcome those feelings? How do you drag yourself out of bed to get it done anyway? What inspires you to keep going when every fiber in you wants to quit?

I rely on my Apple Watch and Fitbit to motivate me to walk or to workout. When I don’t reach activity goals set on each, I feel unaccomplished or lazy.

Keeping my goal in mind! I have a lot of fitness friends who post good quotes and photos, which motivates me. I also have an album of pictures of myself at my goal for motivation. We won’t always want to or feel like working out but it will feel good after finishing.
