Gained a few lbs this week, but still at my goal since I've been consistent. I know the Halloween party foods and drinks threw me off this week, but I'm finally more comfortable giving myself some flexibility to celebrate and enjoy myself sometimes :)

  • Can you BELIEVE it's November!?!

We're entering the holiday season, but we all have some amazing goals we don't want to lose sight of! (Plus, our next round weigh-in in just a couple days.)

Let's start this month off right!

Put in writing your positive affirmation for this month and why you are committed to your goals. Even recite it out loud to yourself.

Remember why you are doing this and what your goals are, then give yourself an affirmation for the month. Start with "I am..." or "I will..." or "I can..."

Type it below, or write it down and put it somewhere you'll see it each day and share a photo with us!

  • I am worth it! I am free to choose new. I am His favorite. I am sexy, sassy and beautiful. I am loved. I will do whatever I can for future me- even if I just do it 'scurred'

Love that!

I have some non-scale victories this week. I fit into all my clothes in my closet, I was able to run/walk 3 miles yesterday since recovering from a foot injury, and I have not had a binge eating session in about a week! I'm so glad I joined this game. I was super nervous since I've struggled to maintain a healthy wait, but the weigh-ins help keep me accountable and all the support from this group so me I'm not the only one with struggles

Hey everyone! I'm now working 3 jobs, one of which is incredibly active, so I need to eat more but have less time to cook haha.

What recipes do you love that are easy to prep, but still healthy and energizing? Trying to balance cooking with work has been tough recently!

Happy Monday

Poke bowls! Rice or lettuce, diced mango/pineapple/avocado/cucumbers/tomatoes, cooked chicken and then make low-fat spicy Mayo.

I get pre-made breaded fish from our local meat center and just pop that in the oven (takes about 15 mins). Then streamed veggies with rice.

Rotisserie chicken! We pick up organic ones at Whole Foods ($10, I think) & the hubby & I get two dinners out of it plus enough left over to make chicken salad for lunch. Just add salad & veggies, rice - whatever is on hand & you are good to go.

  • I *had* met my goal, but I had a huge fundraiser Saturday that we've been planning for months. So last week was complete chaos, full of unhealthy eating, not sleeping, and not taking care of myself, so I'm a bit nervous now 😅

Hope y'all had a great weekend! Happy spooky season!

  • Proud of myself this week. I hate cooking, and my severe depression makes me not want to eat OR cook ever, but I know if I don't cook my partner will order us takeout to make sure I eat.

I've cooked dinner 4 times in the last week, which rarely happens. Last night was pasta primavera with roasted cabbage. I'm not a huge veggie person, but I think this went well :)

Any other spoonies is this challenge? Wondering what other chronic pain folks enjoy doing for exercise! I have my basic physical therapy moves and stretches, but a lot of things aren't possible for me. Please share! Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday!

LOL, it's funny that you said spoonies. I read about that when my fibromyalgia first kicked in. I mentioned it to my daughter, and even though I don't really think about it that much anymore, when I have a bad day she'll say "not enough spoons today, huh mom?". It's so sweet that she remembers that.

I don’t suffer from chronic pain but I do have tinnitus (chronic ear ringing). I also suffer from temporary hearing loss. I fractured my skull when I was 8 years old so I don’t have any memory of what it was like before having hearing issues.

I can’t imagine what chronic pain would be like but I can sympathize. :sparkling_heart: Stay strong! Be the best version of yourself!

  • Today I'm super thankful for having a scale that does all the measurements (fat/muscle/protein/water/etc). I've been struggling with this dietbet as someone with chronic pain and disordered eating. Seeing those .1 changes in a positive direction in every category really adds up, it's a tiny change but seeing my weight go down another .2 while my muscle went up .1 and my water/protein/etc went up helps see that my .2 weight difference is more fat loss than I think, and a bunch of small steps in the right direction.

It's been a bad week in terms of depression so I'm super happy to find that little bit of comfort and positive energy ????

Hope y'all are having a great week!

Here is a pic of my little Loki to spread good juju :)

thanks Vegan Dad. Would you mind sharing what scale you have?

Vegan Dad

Renpho. I think they are around $20-30 on Amazon. Its not going to tell you about water weight though. there is a water % but it doesn't seem to be a good indication of whether your dropping fat, muscle, or water. Bioimpedance isn't regarded as the most accurate way to measure most of these parameters, but it's priced around the same as a basic scale so why not?

  • A little frustrated and worried today. I have a few mental health issues and one of my biggest struggles is with food. It's rare to have an appetite, and a lot of foods/textures are big no-nos, especially a lot of "healthy" foods. So I end up just eating what my body will let me any given day instead if what I planned for.

Trying to keep my healthiest "safe foods" around and trying to stay hydrated and moving. The lack of control over food just makes it a lot more difficult. Does anyone here have similar issues? I've had it for a long time and have researched/etc and know a lot of the "answers" that should've helped in theory, but if anyone else deals with this I'd love to know what works for you!

Here's the sunset from the beach last night to hopefully brighten your Monday ????

Lack of control over food is something I’ve struggled with my whole life. And I have a LOT of food allergies/intolerances so it just feels like a battle every day. Personally the one thing that i found that has helped for me is doing paleo/keto. The low carb aspect was key for my body and it’s AMAZING the feeling of being in control of food instead of the other way around. It took a lot of trial and error to get where I am and I still struggle with sticking to it even when I know it’s the solution (thanks to my own mental health issues). But I really really hope you find the answer you need for you! Keep trying! You will find it! I am in your corner!

I still have some residual issues which still are present mainly when stressed. One thing that has helped me in the past is to remember you are eating to fuel your body, not just because it tastes good. If you are below the 1200 cal daily and struggling to eat enough you just might have to make yourself sit and eat it or be stuck at the table all day. If you can figure out a few healthy things you can tolerate to eat and make it within your macros, sticking to it and just modifying when you get bored may help. I’m on this no dairy thing until after weigh in, it’s been only a few days and I was whining to my mom that my motivation to eat is severely decreased. I found this no dairy protein shake that has some veggies and stuff already in it and while it’s not the Oreo milkshake I saw in an ad today, it was atleast palatable compared to the canned tuna and raw egg protein drinks my brother makes yuck haha. It may have taken close to a hour to drink but I got it down and felt better knowing my body got some of the things it needed :) Also as a side note, if nausea is an issue maybe talk to your doc about some meds or try over the counter antiemetics like chewable motion sickness pills.
