Last weigh in couldn't be at a worse time! Haha I totally bombed it, but it was worth it to enjoy all that party food. Finally the birth control shot is out of my system now too, it was making me miserable and I am thankfully back to normal again (worst reaction I have ever had to a medication and you're stuck with it for 3 months). Got that pep back in my step, the weather is warming up, snow is mostly gone, great start to the month so far!

8 years ago was pre-COVID, I'd be interested to see if there was a control group and if they also saw an increase of dying from heart disease

Eli, there were differing increases depending on how much the people fasted, including those who only fasted for 8 hours which is effectively sleeping time.

  • Finally got enough snow to build a respectable snow hill/luge run in the backyard! This is the before. Spent two hours shoveling and I am pooped, I know it must have been a good amount of calories burned.

Climate change is a wild ride, we should have had this weather back in December or January (this is Saskatchewan) but it was a brown Christmas. I've been missing snow all winter, and now it finally comes when it should be spring.

The weigh-in is open tomorrow as well, but you don't have to weigh-in if you prefer.

The only question I’d have is about the limits on how much you’re allowed to lose in a single round. So if you went waaaaay down in weight from round 1 to 3 I don’t know when they say “you’ve lost too much.” But the “too much” values are really high so I wouldn’t worry about that.

I have gained 4 pounds in February. I am so upset with myself. I am trying to get back on track. I found out in the beginning of February that I have lung cancer. I was told to quit smoking now. I have been 30 days without smoking but I used food for a cigarette replacement.

I only eat one square of the 70% dark daily’s My husband buys 90% but keep eating my 70%, cause it’s so good!
But I shouldn’t have eaten on the morning of weigh-in…it was way too close!!!

Anyone else dealing with fluctuations? I’ve been kind of frustrated lately. My clothes are falling off, I’m getting comments that people are noticing, and I’m feeling stronger, but dang the scale keeps zigzagging around the last 2 lbs (for this month’s weigh-in) and it’s driving me crazy 😅

My weight is actually going down much faster than I've been anticipating! I did only start at about 155 so the increments between goals are pretty small, I was just a bit over the "overweight" threshold. But yesterday I weighed in at a new low and then today I was down a whole pound from that! I moved my scale around and weighed myself 3 times to make sure it was right. 😂 I do tend to overestimate calories and I don't count exercise in my tracker.

Going to be upping my calories and focusing more on building muscle now! Without holding my phone or wearing my weigh in clothes, I'm only 1.2lbs from my final goal.

Nice! I'm also focusing on strength. I don't know that I'll build much or anything in the way of muscle while I'm in a deficit, but I am keeping that deficit small and eating a lot of protein in hopes that I at least don't lose much of the muscle I already have as I lose these last few pounds of fat.

Don't fear the carbs! Carbs are good for you! Some carbs aren't going to make you gain weight when you're in a deficit. Sometimes when I am hungry I picture different food groups to figure out what my body is trying to signal it needs without allowing junk food to be the default.

Can U do more to calm ur mind? Anything to relax more: massage, yoga, meditation, a funny movie, peaceful music.

I do imagery (of little flakes of fat falling off - fat on arms, hitting the fat on back when I walk. Fat hitting n being knocked off).
Or calm breathing exercises (belly) and w/ exhale, imagine the flat belly as the new me.
