Has anyone heard of e2m?

I just looked it up. “Eager 2 Motivate” (or Engine-2 Meals, I guess). Based off a book written by a firefighter. Sounds like a good plan. Plant-based foods and exercise. Similar to what a lot of us are doing already.

  • Just a reminder to focus on your why and being present for important times. My thoughts have been consumed by food and weight. Trying to move past that and enjoy my children and bring active with them.

Had a family wedding this weekend and definitely over indulged for a couple of days. Worried about weighing myself tomorrow because I know I'll see a gain (even if its just water weight). Should I get back on track and wait a few days to weigh in instead?

Thanks so much guys, I decided to weigh myself. 4 lbs up!! But I took my dog out for an hour long hike, had a healthy breakfast and lunch and have booked into the gym for a spin class and some swims this week! Feeling motivated

I weigh daily mostly for data but know it'll drop quickly. Water weight

  • I'm getting rather nervous that I might not make goal. I have a full 9 days of vacation 11 days to make goal. I know I am halfway there but this weight isn't shredding as fast as it once was.
    Here is my game plan:
Each morning when I wake up and everyone is still asleep I will go for a walk (hoping I can find a way around the lake)
I will only drink alcohol 1 day and "pretend " the rest of the days with flavored club soda.
If I want to indulge in treats I will make sure that I do not binge on them and have a proper serving size. IF I still feel like binging I'll get in the lake or paint my nails.
And lastly I'm going to continue to skip breakfast. (Eating when I am hungry).

Hope that will do the trick!

Sounds like you have a good plan! We have a vacation coming up in August and I'm going to use some of these to help me stay on track!

Great plan! Best of luck

3 days in Philly followed by a weeklong intensive training for teaching. They fed us we'll and open bar and I probably totally fucked up my progress for this round. Trying to get back on track tomorrow. Any tips for dropping the water weight and fixing what I did?

Just get right back on your plan. 3 days can set you back, but don’t beat yourself up about it! If you get right back on program any weight you gained will fall off. It’s what we do consistently and in the long term that determines if we fail or succeed. You know what to do, so now just show up and do it! You totally got this!

When you start dieting I think the first weight you lose comes from the glycogen in your muscles. There are only 500 calories per pound of water. I seem to have about 4 pounds (2000) calories that I maintain because that is usually what I lose and regain when I go on and off my diet. You can knock that out in 2 to 4 days.

  • Is there someone in here that wants to overshare everything? Haha I’m needing someone to not care for constant dump of workout/recipe chat. Life is very busy right now but not dismissive to being a walking buddy too! I’m near Fort Walton Beach Fl. I need accountability! I did find my before dress 👏 excited for it to not be super tight one day haha

I'm in for a constant stream of support from afar, touching base and help with making good choices! I'm in upstate NY though.

That dress already looks great on you!!

Sooooo, I have some news.

Very unexpected and I’m pretty sure I can’t continue in this DietBet. But I didn’t want to drop off the platform without letting all of you know.

I am pregnant.

This is very much a shock as I didn’t think I could get pregnant anymore. It is considered a high risk pregnancy as I’m in my mid 40’s.

I’ll be sending an email to support to drop out in the next day or so.

You guys are amazing and I want you all to know, I’m forever available to you as a friend and supporter in your weight loss journey.

I have many of your email addresses and will still be connecting via that route and holding the positivity Pow-wows in the coming months.

I will be back! Love you all. 😍

I just made it back from a week long beach vacay. I didn’t follow any diet protocol and didn’t work out … and it shows. Here’s to getting back on track!

I'm going on a girls trip sun-wed and so concerned about this! Argh

It happens to many of us. You still have time to get on track. You’ve got this!

NSV: today, I ate two pieces of pizza at a work lunch and DID NOT use it as an excuse to eat crappy or binge the rest of the day. This was huge for me. The past few months, if I ate a treat early in the day, I would say "f-it. I'll get on the wagon tomorrow." Not today. I enjoyed my pizza and stayed on track.😊

Thanks all! I tend to not eat the treat or fall of the wagon. I'm excited trying this new style with treats...I think someone called it "moderation." :joy:

That’s great! I’ve been known to throw out a whole weekend (“I’ll start again on Monday…”) after enjoying some treats, so I’m definitely trying to keep this kind of mindset going forward.

It’s the accumulation of lots of little choices that add up to big results. One example is that I’m saying no to breads and baked goods. I have some gluten sensitivities, but more than that, not falling back on the GF alternatives (and just going with a lettuce wrapped burger, for example) cuts out unnecessary calories and keeps me focused on making better choices for myself. What are some small changes you are making that add up over time?

I'm trying to shift my thinking from all-or-nothing. That's a big change, but it shows up in little ways each day. Today, I had pizza and I wanted a sweet afterward. So, instead of saying f-it and having ice cream (since I had already "ruined the day"), I had my builtbar and just kept going with my day.

These are all great ideas that I will be borrowing from! Thanks for sharing everyone!
