Hi Antonius I just saw your post. I'm not doing the diet bet this time but just wanted to give you a little feedback. I got diagnosed with hypothyroidism during the last diet bet and when I did research I found out that extreme exercise and especially low carb diets can trigger a low metabolism up to 50% lower than normal caused by thyrpid problems specifically a thing called Reverse T3 which essentially cancels out T3 in the body which regulates metabolism and weight loss. Well that sucks and I hated finding that out because I've loved low carb for years especially Atkins but that's what happened to me.

Now I'm just trying to figure out how to eat a more balanced diet with less sugar, no processed stuff and carbs but good ones. I'm not to happy as you can tell cause I had the low/no carb down and was successful but I never imagined it would boomerang on me like that. I really appreciated all your support and encouragement from the last diet bet Antonius. My best to you and your family :)

Hi Adriana. Thank you for thinking of me. That's so awesome of you. So is the hypothyroidism something recent? ARGH!!!!! that's such a bummer, cause it makes it so hard to keep fit, and hell it can really be a drag on your whole outlook. I hear it can really lead to some serious depression. SO what you have to do every day is smile that AWESOME smile I see in your pic.

And look in the mirror so you can see it too. Probably all us fools get to appreciate a beautiful smile. I know if makes people happy, so cash in on that.

You'll have to be mentally strong, and that ain't easy, but I'm sure you will figure it out. Last dietbet I think somebody mentioned some treatment/med that might work.

Oh, and my favorite book about diet (longer than Tim's piece and a bit different, but overall a great approach) the Okinawa diet. awesome if you like asian-ish food. Easy to cook and all healthy dishes. Fast cook times too.

GREAT progression in your weight loss, Antonius!
It's been great, too, watching your contribution to the group... VERY cool!
Hey, where are you located?

Seth W. commented:

You are doing great! Keep up the good work. Don't stop just because you reached the challenge goal.

Antonius M. commented:

Oh thank you very much. No pro-ble-Mo, I didn't reach MY goal. I only hit the dietbet number, but I'm confident I'll make it. The betting keeps me FOCUSED!!! ;)

I'm actually shooting for 72 kg, won't make it in 4 weeks; I'm no Tim Ferris. But I'll get there.
