I'm getting married 10/10/2020. I have done Dietbet on and off the last couple of years, but recently restarted on March 16th, 2020 in one that goes from March 16th - September 15th. I have lost 11.6lbs so far! I have 27.8lbs more that I would like to lose before my wedding. I've got this! :D

Thanks for the advice. Being "beautiful" isn't my only motivation, but I said I want to feel like I am. At this weight, I don't feel like it. I've never had much confidence. My fiancé has given me quite a bit in that department, but its always been lacking. It's something I need to work on and I am. My health is also a big issue. I went to the doctor in December and I went from 2 meds a day to 6. I want to get healthier so I can get off most (if not all) of the medications she put me on. So it's not all about the superficial for me. I just know I feel better inside and out when I'm at a lower weight and I'm hoping the wedding is motivation to get the weight off and keep it off.

I'm sorry- I assumed. All the posts and forums I visited during my wedding planning seemed to be focused and obsessed with the look of the one day- the makeup the hair the teeth, the weight- I got very depressed and sad for all the brides who were obsessed with becoming someone new on their big day because they were sure that what they were at the time of being proposed to, wasn't good enough. I tend to get over-zealous trying to convince brides that their day isn't ruined because one photo showed a bit of skin overlap- you know? Or that glasses are fine, or their hair is beautiful. My best friend even is stuck in a place where she feels less of worth so I white knight all over without asking- sorry! you'll do great! You can do it!

Well I had my first fitting last week, and even though i went in saying to myself DO NOT ALTER it to be super fitted to my body... I did it anyways... So now I have to be super careful about what I eat until June 24... and i go to Italy for a week May 22 .. Lol..

A month should be enough time to wash out any bad you do in Italy, unless you go super hard and bad :) You can still make good choices! You can do this!

I have been losing relatively well over the last few months, but in the last three weeks I have completely stalled out. I have about 10 more lbs I would love to lose before the wedding July 28th. But the scale seems really stuck. Any suggestions for shifting things and making some progress after a long stall?

Without knowing exactly what you've been doing, I'd suggest drinking more water, changing up the workout (the body might be used to it now), eating less calories (you may be at maintenance for what you've been consuming), working out more, or trying intermittent fasting. :)

Workout change up is a great idea! I'm trying some spinning classes this week! Thanks for the suggestions!

I just bought two really cute dresses on clearance from this online shop Lulu's. I knew the XL would be a little too small for me right now, but my goal is to be able to wear one of them to my bridal shower at the end of May. I think it is a totally attainable goal and makes me even more motivated to eat right and work out! What are you guys doing to keep motivated?

Honestly I'm trying to remind myself that a healthier version of me is the best wedding gift my future husband deserves. For me, for him, for our future children :)

My wedding is July 14th and while losing weight for it would be great, I am really here to kickstart a lifestyle change!

I'm in the same boat. Mine is July 12th! We just decided all of the sudden on a date and it's this July! Getting married in Las Vegas and bringing friends and family. Would love to keep in contact to have someone else to talk to about this and stay motivated with! :)

woo nearly there! Drink a lot of water- it'll do more for weightloss than anything else!

Hi!
I just joined this group and need the motivation! My fiance and I haven't set a date yet, but got engaged just before Valentine's Day, 2018. I haven't set a date yet because I want to look great and needed to motivate myself - my starting goal is to lose 20 lbs before I can set the date. Hopefully that'll happen in the next month or two and then, set a date :). My overall goal is to lose about 60 lbs to be where I'd like to be and to maintain for good. Hope everyone is having some success here!

Just remember, he wants to marry you, not the number on the scale, and if everyone else can give us love, we should be able to love ourselves too! Fellow bride here wanting to look good for the big day, but also be healthy for the children after, and for myself. You will look magnificent on that day regardless of if you hit the ideal weight you have, and when people/kids/you look back on the pictures of that day, the only thing captured on it will be the love and happiness of the day. <3 <3 Stay motivated for you! Rooting for you!

Hello :) I got engaged one year and two days ago- all the wedding plans are set, and now I'm waiting on tenterhooks for my first fitting of the dress I ordered. I had intended to be down already to my ideal weight, but with a change at work, deaths in the family, and just LIFE, it hasn't gotten to be! My wedding is in October, and of course I'd love to slim down, but mostly I want to go into this marriage happy with myself. I was 191, and have struggled down to 168 over the course of a few years, mostly trying to change my habits and diets, find a workout that I'll maintain and enjoy. I THINK I have found the right mix, but I'm also struggling to find community so we can keep each other motivated. Here's to all the brides in 2018!
