So I did decide to start my five-day juice fast yesterday. My husband asked why I was doing it this time (I've done two in the past) and I told him it just feels like a way to clear my body of a lot of the junk I've been putting into it in a more healthy way. I'm still close to my 1200 calories and getting lots of nutrients, so I feel okay about it.

I drink two "orange" juices each day, one in the morning and one as my last juice of the day. Carrots and apples combined with either lemon or ginger. Throughout the rest of the day, it's all about the green. Spinach, celery, apples, cucumbers, lemon and ginger make up that one. I can use other juices, but it's more simple (in my mind anyway) to stick with those two. Before I drink my first juice, I drink some hot water with freshly squeezed lemon juice and right before bed a cup of hot herbal tea. Along with all of that, I drink water all day.

Not much to report about on day 1. I wasn't really hungry, but was missing food (if that makes any sense). I thought about food--a lot. I am restricting my exercise to just walking while on the fast, because I don't want to push my body too much. I kind of wish I was one of those people who could extend the fast to 30 days, but I really think I'd be setting myself up for failure. Besides, I really DO like food. ;)
