For the first time in years I am having luck with a diet plan with enough foods to eat.  The two big rules for me have been to avoid white carbs (white rice, white bread, baked goods, chips) and sugar.  I've been focused on lean proteins, salads, some nuts, and certain fruits.  Here are the foods that have been working for me:

Eggs, hardboiled or scrambled.  Hardboiled eggs substituting for my late night snacks.

Avocado

Chicken breast

Fish

Macadamia nuts, almonds, and walnuts in moderation

Whole grain, high fiber cereal

Raspberries, blueberries, strawberrys, and apples

Salad, heavy on the spinach and kale, with tomato, onion, kalamata olives, mushrooms, peppers, brussel sprouts, olive oil and balsamic vinagrette

Low sodium lentil soups

Miso with wheat ramen

Black bean soup

Amy's chilis (a bit high in sodium, so not too often)

Lots of water, tea, and coffee; no more diet soda

Edamame

Occasional lean beef

Some skim milk; almond milk more often with cereal

Quinoa

Good luck everyone!  I'll update this list as I go along.  A lot of the ideas came from Abs Diet.
