So, right after I pledged my $30 and signed on to do this Dietbet, I was really excited and motivated...and I wanted to share my news with my Facebook friends and family to rally support and maybe even get donations, since I'm contributing 10% of my winnings to American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, which is coming up in June.
instead, I got the opposite. Talk about heartbreak. Many of my "friends" questioned my choices and said it "sounds like a scam". I'm not going to lie, it got me down...for a few minutes. Then I got to thinking, ya know...these people aren't on this journey with me. It's none of their business. This is something I WANT to do and WILL succeed with. It would've been nice to have an outpouring of support, but the more I think about it, the more I realize I have a support system right here, with all of you (along with my boyfriend).
I will not let the nay-sayers win. It's just all the more reason to succeed!
