So I've been reading a few stories of others and I decided, why not put one up myself?
Hi everybody. My name is Melanie, I'm 19 (20 on June 8th) and a student in college: I'm in the first year of studying to be a nurse.
I have been struggling with my weight since I was young, though it took me to the age of 8 to find out that people found there was something wrong with me. I was fairly active then, but that kind of stopped when I went to high school. From there on a lot of bullying and a lot of eating started. I gained quite some weight, and thanks to unhealthy eating habits since I was a wee child, I kept on eating bad. And I mean bad.
Now that I'm in college, one I'm actually comfortable (I did a higher level college before but that was too stressful and really bad for my (mental) health) in, I decided that I'd better shape up my life as well now. As a future nurse I want to feel good about myself, and feel confident when I'm around patients.
So one thing I personally need for that is to lose weight and work on my attitude: I'm a rather shy and quiet person, but I really should be working on learning to be more open. And that goes hand in hand with my weight loss.
So here I am, joining another DietBet in the hope that I'm going to finish strong. And after that, perhaps another one? Who knows. I want to prove to myself first that I can do this.
If anyone read to here, thanks. Hope you're having a good day :)
