Writing an update as I'm on my lunch break at work, where we had a pot luck I've honestly been kind of dreading.  Turns out it wasn't that bad, more like a minor annoyance.  I didn't overeat and more importantly I didn't eat any wheat or flour (the worst thing I ate was like half a serving of potato salad).  I didn't even touch the dessert table.  I forgot about the pot luck last night and made a box lunch for today that I guess I'll eat tomorrow instead (naked pork steak, caramelized baby carrots, a paleo rhubarb crumble).

This weekend will probably be a challenge because I'm having a friend over who can be kind of an enabler/triggerer at times.  He knows that I'm on a mostly paleo diet and sometimes points out that what I'm eating is "not paleo."  It really grates on me after a while because it's so selective... I'll eat with him at two restaurants in a day, basically doing nothing but cheat during the duration of it, and then later he'll see me eat some little thing that isn't even that far off of a paleo/Primal diet and "OH THAT'S NOT PALEO LOL."  He doesn't mean anything by it, but one of my depression/eating disorder triggers is unfortunately people feeling the need to comment on my diet (whenever somebody suggests that we need to fight global obesity by pointing out to fat people that we are fat and eat poorly as if we don't hear this all the time it makes me want to vomit).  So basically I'll need to really plan out where we'll be going so that there are options for me.

Come to think of it tonight might be a challenge to as I'm going to a coffee shop to hang with the local Pagan religious community.  Pastries... oy.  It's a problem for me not only because they trigger me but because I have a delay-reaction allergy to wheat.  Since it takes several hours for me to feel the effects of the allergy I'm prone to thinking it's fine and if I just eat one it won't hurt me or something like that.

Sad story: I totally biffed it on working out last night like I intended.  I got distracted talking to a cute girl on the Internet (on a slightly related note, I learned yesterday that she's allergic to nuts, meaning it'll be a challenge to cook for her if I ever wind up doing that... because of the wheat allergy I cook with a lot of nuts!).  I'm reasonably good at finding ways to deal with allergies, though, so I'll make it work.

Anyway, my lunch break is coming to a close soon, so I'm out for now.
