Well hello there!

I wanted to load a photo of a distinct moment that I felt like crap/fat/bloated/big (whatever you want to describe it) as a reminder that I never want to get to this point again! and when I need motivation, I can come back here.

The date - 5/9/2015 - here I am, sitting in our room at the Wynn Hotel, Las Vegas. It was meant to be a happy and fun time - we had taken my wife for Mother's Day :) Her first stay on the strip (we are originally from Australia). We did have fun, I just disliked all the photo's that I were in and the trip was a wakeup call for me.

As soon as I got home, I jumped on the scales - 225lb - I had been to this point before and I'll call this my tipping point - it's generally when I get to this point that something needs to be addressed. My previous attempt in 2014 had me go from 230lbs to 200lb by the end of that year. By February 2015, I was gaining it back - fast - we had a major project at work that left us feeling tired, stressed and a lack of motivation to exercise. By the end of 2015, I was back at 225lb's - I felt awful.

By mid-May this year, I had booked a solo vacation (my own little retreat to adress my issues, to have a little conversation with myself) to take place in July - Cambodia & Vietnam = a lot of walking. By June, I was starting to increase the frequency of walking and hiking occasionally on the weekends.

Cambodia and Vietnam were fantastic experiences and a great opportunity to reasses what I was doing, where I was going wrong, not to mention that I was averaging about 20,000 steps per day according to my fitbit.

I'll detail more in the next post about the changes post vacation and the progress that we (my wife and I) are making.
