Week two was a real test on me. I went to a wedding of one of my friends, and I knew that there would be any number of delicious food and drinks, and I didn't want to limit myself so much that I couldn't have a good time.
Luckily, the chicken option that I had chosen when I RSVP'd was a smaller portion than the pork option, and came with a heaping pile of corn and not too much mashed potatoes and gravy. It was delicious! I did have a few of the floating appetizers mozarella sticks, crab puffs, stuffed mushrooms, swedish meatball) and a piece of the wedding cake vanilla with vanilla ice cream but when I got full I stopped eating the delicious food which is more than I could say about myself two weeks ago. I hadn't used any of my points in the rest of the day, so I didn't feel too bad about what I ate.
I did indulge in the drinks (open bar anyone? ugh!) but the glasses were smaller than normal and I went with a vodka cranberry with lime juice for the whole night plus a couple shots with friends. I probably had more than I should have, but I hadn't been to a wedding, let alone a night of drinking, in quite some time. I knew that I would be dancing and hoped that the indulging would balance it out for me. And boy was I right! I danced the night away so much that my legs are still slightly sore 48 hours later! That definitely paid off for me.
I had my weigh in at Weight Watchers tonight, down 3.2 pounds! I can't imagine what it would have been like if I didn't over indulge in the food and drink at the wedding! Seeing this loss after being not so on track for the weekend has helped to push me to stay with the program and do what I know I need to. It might be hard, but every meal, every drink, every single thing I do plays a part in my health and I just need to make sure they are good decisions at least 90% of the time.
Today I went grocery shopping and got ingredients for my first ever crock pot meal: chicken chili! Hopefully it is good because I'm planning to eat it for at least a few lunches/dinners this week! I am going to make a better effort to pack my lunches the night before so that I don't have the excuse that I didn't wake up early enough to pack one in the morning. It's been pretty easy to throw something together the last few days, but it will be much easier if all I have to do is grab the bag and go!
I hope everyone else has been having a good week, here's to week three!!
