So today I hit the gym for the first time in who knows how long. You see, I am more of an at home workout person. I hate going to the gym. There are always too many people. bulking men hogging all the weight machines, and mirrors that people use to sneak glances at you. It may be my imagination but that's how I feel. I went to the on-campus gym tonight (I'm a PhD student in the Midwest), and was surprised that it wasn't really crowded. Then it again, it was 9:45 pm. Anyways, I hit the eliptical first. This has always been my favorite and most successful machine. I just knew I was going to get on there and just get it in.. WRONG!!!! Man, I struggled to get to the first mile. It took me almost 20 minutes, which is a first. Usually I can knock a mile out in about 10. Talk about a buzzkill. BUT... I was stil happy that I didn't pass out and I hate a little sweat, which I rarely do. I followed up with a weighted ball routine and some ab work on the exercise ball. For kicks and giggles, I tried my hand at racketball.......

Racketball..... I am sure I looked a HAWT mess. I mean, I dont know the rules and was swinging at the air erratically. I am sure it was quite a scene. And honey, I was winded...Like bent down hands on knees panting like a dog winded. But it was funny and I will definitely do it again.

I came home to emails from my students so I have to go but I wanted to share.......

I'm not good at writing this stuff down but am going to give it a try.
