Day 52 – Went away now feeling gray & puzzled!

Ok - For those of you that have gotten to know me, know that since joining DietBet Sept 8 (my very first game, first diet, first timer), I have been writing a daily blog of my journey & lifestyle change...I have failed on this recently – I am sorry -- My work life has been quite hectic & has prevented me from staying on track in the blog writing category.  I guess if something has to be off-track, that’s the safest...

Time to get back on track – this one may be along one…brace yourselves…if you read it – thanks, if you don’t (I really can’t blame ya…LOL).

SO - today I ask for a few answers...I have learned in this wonderful DietBet Village that we are all part of, the best way to find out about things you don't know is to simply put yourself put there & ask...There are so many wise & wonderful folks that have “been there done that” & just willing to help -- that’s why I love it so much here.  I have never felt anything but positive about my feedback here -- thanks fellow villagers!

Questions...First, I better give the pre-game skinny on what leads up to my questions.  I flew to San Diego Oct 24 & returned Oct 28 (5 days)...while on my mini vacay, I accomplished some HUGE fears & milestones:

  1. Did not have to use a seat belt extender - first time in...well, sadly, I can't even remember.  I WAS BEAMING!!!!
  2. Used the hotel fitness ctr (first time in a fitness ctr in my life).
  3. Used said fitness ctr with other people using it at the same time -- HUGE HUGE FEAR CONQUERED.
  4. Stayed on track with exercise & eating.  Did not splurge, except for a few bevi's.
  5. Recorded every calorie, every water....everything!
  6. Went to the Chargers/Raiders football game & sourced out a nacho stand (pico de gallo & mango salsa only) & did not finish them only had about 20 nachos.  That's it...nothing else besides water.  My husband enjoyed his 2 hotdogs & a hamburger...lol...I salavated beside him & lived through him...ba ha ha...
  7. Went to the Zoo & had a salad.

Ok - questions:

  1. Since returning, I weighed myself & I'm up 5 lbs?  What the what the?
  2. Is this due to flying...I made sure I kept my water intake going...

I don't want to get discouraged but that is a lot.  I have worked very hard to get where I am & I have lost 20 lbs since Sept 8...pushed myself beyond the beyond…

Is there anything besides getting back into my home life routine that I can do to get back to where I was?  Is this due to flying...I also have my "visitor" here so I'm thinking that probably contributes to it as well, but I was absolutely shocked & horrified to see that big of a gain...especially since I was SO good & disciplined… 

I am drinking water like crazy today in hopes to flush out any leftover toxins but I could honestly just use some advice, reassurance, encouragement - ANYTHING to let me know that this is normal.

With this lifestyle change, I want to be able to live my life going forward.  I am confident that I will make the right choices & not venture into the dark alleys of the past & since I kept up the exercise even away, I know that’s set...but when I go away, I need to be able to let loose...OR maybe not...maybe I'm just the type of person that has to be 100% vigilante no matter what...that’s okay & I will live with that, but I'd like to know...
