Recently I rewatched a catholic movie, Little Boy, in which the boy's main focus was a catch phrase he had come up with his father, well known as 'his partner,' that always helped him get passed difficult times. His father would ask: "do you think we can do this?" To which the boy would reply: "I believe we can do this." I take this to myself and meditated on it. If everyday I would wake up and God would ask me, "Nadia, do you think you can do this?" I would love to answe just like that little boy. Unfortunately, it had not been like this for the pst couple of months I've been struggling to be consistent. I have switched jobs twice in the past 12 months. I broke off a relationship about two months ago. However, recently I started to make a flipover to how I thought about these things. Yes, it is sad, but I've resolved that if God believed in me by giving me these challenges, why can't I beieve in myself? This past week I resolved to do something sbout it. Instead of reminiscing on how awesome my first marathon was, how great I looked when I was active and fit, or how loose my old clothes were and now I can hardly fit in them, today I want to switch off that mentality and focus on today. I cannot control what happened yesterday, but I sure can manage what I can do today. Therefore, I joined Dietbet in hopes of finding inspiration, motivation and support. I have adopted that motto to be my own: I believe I can do it. It does not mean it will be easy, but it will be worth it. My fellow Dietbetters, I say to you today, I beleive we can do this!

Sign in to CommentNice post - I feel like I suffer mentally over skinnier days of the past. I have a closet full of nice clothes in sizes 00 to 2 that I wore, oh dare I say it, 6 years ago. The funny or not so funny part of that is at the time I thought I was fat - I wish I was that fat now. LOL I really need to focus on the now, what my current goals are and being happy in the present no matter a size 0 or a 10. My weight shouldn't define me.
