I have been working hard on coming up with a goals list for the year. I wanted to set goals that were easy enough to attain, but still hard enough for me to be pushing myself every month. I broke down my goals on a monthly basis, and will add additional ones on the first of each month based on what I achieved the previous month. In order to help push myself towards these goals, especially my ones for January, I decided to join two additional games. I am now signed up for two kickstarters running for the month of January, a transformer that I started in October that runs through April, and a transformer that runs through June. Hopefully this accountability will help push me in the right direction for the month and the year! I listed my goals as they stand right now below, as an added accountability to myself!

2016 Goals

  • incorporate more strength training into my routine
    • I have always been a cardio girl, but I did a year of personal training at LA Fitness last year where I gained a lot of knowledge about strength training. Now that I have gotten myself into the swing of things with getting myself to the gym, I want to start adding more strength training instead of just focusing on cardio. I know I am going to need to wean myself onto this because that's one of the factors in my struggling at the gym and then not wanting to go. So my goal is to gradually include strength training in my gym schedule, maybe starting with once a week and working my way up as I go.
  • run a 5k
    • I have done a ton of 5k's (Color Run hype!) but I have never actually run one, I always walked because I figured walking was better than nothing, and I loved getting colorful! But I want to push myself to be better with every day so my goal for the end of 2016 is to run a 5k. I don't care how fast I go, but I want to be able to run for at least 75% of the race, with as little amount of walking as possible. I will find a 5k that I can sign up for myself that maybe isn't a Color Run so that I don't feel bad for missing out on the colorful fun, and hopefully time this around October/November 2016.
  • reach onderland
    • This has been one of my goals since I first joined Weight Watchers in 2010. I was SO CLOSE when I first quit, literally 6 pounds away and I quit. I kick myself for that so many times, but it keeps me going. So my goal is to get to that elusive land, ideally before my birthday (July 23rd) but at the very least by the end of 2016. If I stay on the pace that I am currently losing at, this shouldn't be a problem.

January Goals

  • increase Fitbit goal to 8,000
    • My current goal is 5,000 steps per day, which was a good goal for me to have when I wasn't going to the gym and was basically just walking around at work and at home. Now that I have incorporated exercise into my routine, I should be pushing myself more so that I can stay on track. My goal is to increase my Fitbit goal to 8,000 by the end of the month, probably in increments of 1,000 steps.
  • log 20 hours at the gym
    • My gym goals for December was to just get there 20 times in the month. For January, I am increasing that a bit to logging 20 hours. This will likely still be 20 trips to the gym for me, but now instead of counting a 30 minute workout as one trip, it will count as 30 minutes. Hopefully this will get me to either working on more cardio, or increasing my strength training time at each workout.
  • get 4th 10lb ribbon
    • I have already gotten three 10lb ribbons at my Weight Watchers meetings, and I am hoping to get a fourth by the end of January. If I stick to getting a 10lb ribbon each month, I will be to my goal weight in less than one year.
