So I thought I would explain a little bit about why I started this DietBet in the first place. In its origin, it was purely selfish...

Over the last several years I have gained and lost and gained and lost the same 20-ish poound through various means. I have done Paleo, the Tim Ferriss Slow Carb Diet, Green Smoothie Detox Diets, Kayla Itsine's Bikini Body Healthy eating Guide, and the list goes on.... I even did Weight Watchers before! Every time I lost weight I would get to a certain point and then give up and gain all the weight back or gain more back! The lowest weight I ever got down to before was 181 with Slow Carb. I honestly got down that low because I was hardly eating. I got so obsessed with eating the "right" foods I wouldn't eat al all. When I did Weight Watchers onlne I got down to 183. The one number that has always eluded me is 179. I can't honestly remember the last time I saw the 170s. The first time I started thinking about weight loss for real was after I graduated high school. I weighed about 185, close to my current weight.

This time with Weight Watchers is different. This coming weigh in will be my 16th week doing meetings. I began online in July. I am doing this the healthy way and more importantly, I am mentally healthy. I am living a lifestyle and eating in a way I can maintain the rest of my life. I am happy and healthy and motivated. Currently I weight 185.8, 6 lbs away from that magical 179. With DietBet I want to crash through that number to what I consider "Phase 2" of my weight loss journey. Once I get through these pounds I have lost before, I'm in new territory. I'm a new person with new goals. Through this whole weight loss process I am finding my new self and that begins on the other side of 179.
