This week could have been bad for me but it wasn't! The blizzard on the east coast hit us hard with probably about two feet of snow, so I was stuck at home for the entire weekend (Friday-Monday), the roads were blocked, gym closed, didn't have work... sounds great but not when you consider that all you want to do on days like that is eat and nap and watch TV!! I'll admit, I did not do as well as I should have, what with pizza one night, cookies another, and way too much sitting on my butt. However, I did shovel out our driveway for four hours, so that was some activity, and I tried to make the healthiest choices possible with lots of chicken, veggies, and some delicious recipes from drizzle me skinny! But getting out of the house and into the gym yesterday was a welcome relief!
I'm off work again today, but I got to go to a different Weight Watchers meeting than the one I normally go to, and I'm down another 2lbs, which brings me to 41.4lbs lost total! I got my fourth 10lb ribbon, which was one of my January goals! I am happy with where I am right now, and I know I can reach my goals if I stay dedicated. I am over halfway to my goal of reaching onderland, only 36lbs to go! If I stay on the path I've been on, I could reach that goal before summer!!! I'm glad that a couple indulgent meals didn't throw me off too much, but I know that going to the gym last night and drinking tons of water all day yesterday helped with that.
I find that most of the time when I have a cheat meal, that weight gain is BIG the next day I'm talking a 5lb increase overnight that stuck around for a day but that with a little effort it goes right back down to where I was. That is super helpful and motivating for me because I know that if I want to I can indulge, I just need to make sure I stay on track the days after that cheat. I used to just "cheat meal" all the time, but now it's one and done, have the bad meal, enjoy it, get right back on track. This in itself is a victory NSV! for me because I have learned to eat better and make it part of my life. That's why WW is so good to me, because it teaches you to WANT to eat better, it makes a lifestyle change, not just a diet!
I am excited to set a new list of goals for February because the first of the month is coming around so soon!!! I like to have one weight loss goal 10lb ribbon, one gym goal 20 hours logged and one wild card FitBit goal to 8,000 each month. I think having an "hours" goal at the gym this month was a little restricting for me because I felt that I needed to keep my workouts at 30 minute increments so I could log it easier, but that prevented me from pushing myself for another 5 minutes or something like that. So for my next goal set I won't be doing an hours tracking, I will probably go back to the "trips to the gym" goal, but I haven't completely decided yet. I also am not sure what my wild card goal will be, but I have a couple days! Looking forward to another month of success!!
