
This is me at the beginning and end of my first ever DietBet :) I can see the changes and I'm very happy about this comparison :)
Whoop, whoop! We successfully made it through the first month! So let's recap mine. I lost 21.6 pounds and I went from BMI 36.9 to 33.3! That's incredible. I know that like half of it was just the water lose, I started pretty swallen and stuff after New Year's Eve. But still I managed to go down 9,7 % and I believe most of it was done because of my hard work and resisting temptation, not just by losing water.
I had pretty hard month food wise. My parents were home up until this Tuesday. They don't really understand the food choices I have to make for myself. My mom always says that a little bit of this and a little bit of that won't hurt me. But for me it's much more about the mind set. I know I can eat rise and potatoes and bread in smaller portions. But usually in the past when I started in small my mind completely changed and I lost focus. I don't want for it to happen again so I really had to say 'No' over and over again and my mom was a bit pissed.
But now they're gone for almost two months and I finally have the oppurtunity to eat whatever I chose! It's a great feeling not having all the temptations right under my nose! I'm very proud of myself that I didn't take any tempatations in January and I hope to keep it up in February and the next months.
Exercise... was there, definitely. I started to be more active. Little changes, I started walking more, not lying all day in bed. Most of my transformation is connected to my food but working out is a big part of it also. I haven't had the chance to go swimming yet, which is the activity I like a lot. But I went to the gym a few times and totally killed myself. I was feeling great afterwards.
Because of that amazing feeling after gym workouts, next mornings came a cold shower. I don't know why but everytime I was or the same or I gained a bit of weight! I don't know why, if it's somehow connected to building muscles... but I feel like I burned a lot of fat and the scale isn't showing that to me.
Also I have a scale problem regarding my work. I was working full-time from August to Decempber. In that time I was on my weight-loss journey for the first time (I gave up in September) and the weight went off relatively good. Now I'm working at the same place part-time, only Mondays and Wednesdays. I have to get up at 6AM those days and my body isn't happy about that. It doesn't matter how early I go to bet (I know my body needs the night rest), I'm gaining those days. I guess maybe it will be better when winter is over and I can again start biking to work... we'll see about that probably in March.
What the future holds? Well... 2016 is my year. I'm planning to continue with my journey the whole year and be as close to a 100 pounds loss as possible. That would put me on number 122, weight I had when I was probably 8 years old! I can't even imagine the possibility of getting there! But I'm sure as hell I'm gonna try my best this year!
I already joined February DietBet and I want to continue to do so for the whole year! It's an amazing motivator and people here are just the best supporters ever! I love sharing stuff with you, guys, all the good and the bad! My plan is to join new game everytime I hit my goal. I know the phase will slow down rapidly, I can see it now for the past two weeks (last week I lost 2.2 pounds and this week so far 1.6 pounds). But maybe I can play new game every 3 weeks or so? We'll see how it goes :)
