This week definitely had some ups and downs.

Ups:

I RAN MY FIRST 5K!!!!!!! I signed up for a 5k with the alumni association at my college, and completed it on Sunday morning! I have done 5k's before (color run) but I have always walked them. But this time, I ran (slowly) and didn't stop to walk even one time! I felt so accomplished when I crossed the finish line! I knew it was going to be hard, and it sure was, but I did it!

I also did well on the other aspects of my fitness journey. I went to the gym on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, plus I did the 5k on Sunday. That means that I achieved my goal to be active 5x per week, which is one of my April goals. I got in a lot of strength workouts, as well as some quality time with the elliptical, which is my favorite.

I made good eating choices on 5/7 days this week. I think that weight loss is all about balance, and not denying yourself things too much because that can lead to dangerous bingeing. Last week was better for eating, but I also think that having salads every day for lunch shouldn't be an every week thing, and could be part of the reason why I felt the need to cheat for two days.

Downs:

I had two cheat meals/days...

Monday night I couldn't go to the gym because I had to go to a house showing, and everything was incredibly stressful, and I ended up getting a drink (rum punch) at dinner and picking a meal that was not the best choice (bacon cheeseburger and fries) PLUS we went to Dairy Queen after dinner and I got a Reese's blizzard in a waffle cone... I guestimated the points values for the meal and I used 95 weeklies! Oh dear...

Then Saturday we had another house showing. I went to the gym in the morning, which was good, but I wanted to eat something before we went to the showings since I didn't think we would be eating until dinner. So I ate a yummy and healthy yogurt bowl with granola, chia seeds, and fresh pineapple for 12sp. But then we went to lunch at Panera.. I got my "usual" which is a 1/2 Sierra turkey sandwich (10sp) a cup of French onion soup (8sp) and I ended up eating the baguette that was the side (5sp) which meant I was 2sp over my limit for the day by the end of lunch... THEN for dinner my roommate and I went to the Movie Tavern and got a spinach and artichoke dip for an appetizer, I got a chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries, and we got cookies to split. I estimated those points to be about 75sp over my daily...

Overall:

Despite the fact that this week was a rollercoaster, I did have a good week! I maintained at my Weight Watchers meeting, which I was hoping for considering it's better than a gain! I also feel so accomplished for completing my first 5k, and I feel so great in my clothes and in myself. One thing I love about Weight Watchers is that they are "beyond the scale" meaning that sometimes it doesn't matter what the scale says, what matters is how you feel! I am confident that I will be able to keep achieving with weight loss because I am not going to let one ehh week derail me!

This next week is going to be an interesting one for sure. I am leaving for Georgia tomorrow to go to my sister's wedding and I will be down there through next Monday. That means that I won't be able to go to my normal WW meeting, but I will be able to go later next week. I am hoping that I can AT LEAST maintain over this vacation week, and really hoping that I can have even a tiny loss. I am 7.2lbs away from my next 10lb ribbon, and I would REALLY like to still get this by the end of April (three more weigh ins!) so I stick to my goal of one 10lb ribbon per month. I know that if I make mindful, conscious decisions I should be able to have at least a tiny loss. I don't want to drink too much, because that sets me back far with my weight loss, and I really don't need to drink to have a good time. I also want to incorporate activity as much as possible. My sister and her fiancee are very active people, so I am hopeful that this won't be too difficult. I just need to keep my wits about me and make good choices as much as possible.

Here's to a killer week!
