Ever since graduating from college in 2009 I have been steadily gaining weight. I am now nearly forty pounds heavier than I was at 22. It's getting to the point where photographs of myself, even the best ones, are depressing. Here's a picture of me enjoying a wonderful time in Orlando in February - looking back at the photos of that trip, despite the fun memories, is painful. When I see pictures of myself my outsides don't match my insides.
I enjoy running and hiking and staying active. Exercise isn't a problem for me so much as is maintaining a healthy diet. I've got a major sugar addiction and I pass over leafy greens and lean protien for carbs every chance I get. I have the knowledge I need to eat right but I've had a really hard time sticking to a meal plan despite many attempts. I'm looking forward to this challege giving me the motivation to do what's best for my body!
My husband and I are hoping to get pregnant this year. I know that being healthy will not only help us put that bun in the oven, but will also help me properly nourish a baby if we're able to concieve one. I want to give myself the best chance of being a healthy mom with a healthy baby!
I'm so grateful to Hiedi and Chris for setting up the challenge and I'm looking forward to saying goodbye to that 4%!
