I have toyed with getting healthy and losing weight over the past several years. I've even done a couple of the short-term DietBet games. Won one, lost one. BUT, the truth of the matter is that I need to lose at least 10% to move toward a healthy weight and the 4% games, while motivating, aren't going to get me there.

Want to know what is SO bad? If I tell you, I'm hoping that will motivate me to make a change. I have gotten a FitBit and am ashamed at how sedentary it has shown me that I am. Many people have a goal of 7500 or 10000 steps, right? Well, while I am not being intentional about getting steps in, my average steps aren't even 1000. Seriously. (Hangs head). Ugh.

My intention for this DietBet will be to MOVE. Ideally, I will hit at least 5000 steps a day and work up to 10000 by the end of this challenge. Additionally, I hope to also do daily exercise of approximately 1/2 hour.

That greatly increased activity, coupled with me cutting carbs and sugars is how I hope to achieve this. I am signing on for this longer-term challenge, because I wholly recognize that I need to make my health a genuine priority and that will require life-long change.

I hope the best for everyone in this challenge! We CAN do this!
