I am a 39 year old full time working mom to two little boys (7 and 10), married for 11 years to a great husband who has seen all of my weight ups and downs! I'm currently back in college for my last class for my social/behavioral sciences degree - so stress/limited time is definitely my current world!

I was heavy from middle school until after the birth of my first son, when I weighed almost 300 pounds. His birth really struck a cord with me, and I got very healthy during that maternity leave. I continued to lose weight and got to my lowest # on the scale ever (over 100 pounds lost!) when we found out I was having kiddo #2. I stayed healthy throughout that pregnancy, and lost the baby weight and a bit more during that maternity leave. (Like Romy and Michelle, instead of Mono, MATERNITY leave was the best diet ever) :p

Queue back to work with a newborn and a 3 year old. At the time I had a super stressful job I hated (thankfully that has changed!), and I fell back into eating for emotional comfort. I lost my dad to lung cancer while pregnant with kid #1, lost mom to emphyzema with pregnancy #2, and I know that the emotions tied up in that had part in gaining back half of my 100lb loss.

I decided last week that was it. I thankfully saw the Dietbet ad and thought, what the heck. My husband has been back on track for a few weeks, swimming at work on break (he works at a university), eating better. We are each others support system. But he also has emotional eating issues (we lost his dad to cancer in December last year, we lost my brother to pneumonia in February of this year)..it's SO easy to placate those darn feelings with pizza/chips/ice cream, it really is. But we can do this!!

We tend to get very organized and eat similar/simple things as we get back into a healthy lifestyle. eggs with spinach or Greek yogurt/fruit for breakfast, salads for lunch, healthy serving sizes of whatever we are having for dinner, nuts/cheese sticks for snack. Lots of planning. My struggles will be completing my college course, working from home 2 days/week because of that class (I remember to get up and move more at work amazingly! At home I just see chores I need to do :p), and of course the upcoming holidays. But, we've resolved to remember holidays are about family, and to pick our splurges wisely (Aunt Robin's pumpkin cake!!). We are also spending a week at Disneyland after Christmas, we will make sure our walking offsets our eating and keep track of everything! Here's to HEALTH!!
