I didn't do as well as I hoped through the holiday season, but not as badly as I feared, either.  A bump in the road, not a fall off a cliff.  My best news coming into the New Year is that after much upheaval in the house from a major renovation, I should be able to finally dig my treadmill out of the construction chaos and have it workable by the weekend and can finally log some steps even when the weather is not cooperating.  It will be great to be able to hop on for 15 minutes before breakfast and get an evening constitutional again when I haven't the gumption to face the cold, dark, wet streets.

I haven't made any true resolutions this year.  I just want my life to be more enjoyable and less expensive than last year's 6 scary trips to the ER and an emptied bank account later.  But I'm here and I'm still kicking and I am making it happen right before my very eyes.

And my Christmas present to myself?  I finally decided:  my very favorite, very expensive face & eye cream that I only indulge in with bonus or found money every 18 months or so.   I had the bonus and they were running a sale, so a non-food reward for the journey I've accomplished thus far.

Next big challenge is my birthday right around the corner.  I hope to shed the holiday gain plus another .5 pound by the time it gets here to match the number I had in my head to have reached, when I started all this November 2015.  So close!  It might be salmon and asparagus for dinner for 6 days running to make that mark.  Let's hope salmon is on sale for the next 2 weeks ;)
