I'm so happy I won my first Dietbet! It's a great motivator and rally encouraging that I was able to lose so much weight without feeling like my life was completely absorbed with dieting.
This month will be a bit crazier because it's the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and I will be performing, seeing shows, writing a blog post for work and working my regular job as well. I was able to lose 10lbs at Melbourne Comedy Festival just by being prepared with food and running from show to show, so I'm hopeful that being busy will allow me to shed weight without really thinking about it.
That said, I still want to get into the gym and stay on my high-protein, high-fat, low-carb diet. So, here are some goals for August:
-14k steps per day: this one should be easy with the amount of walking I'll be doing between shows.
-gym 5x/week: I want to continue working on my running and this is the best place to do it. Edinbugh will be so crowded and hectic during Fringe so I'm looking forward to the gym as a respite from the insanity.
-3 liters of water per day: This one should also be easy since I won't be drinking alcohol, but I do tend to slack a bit on the days I don't go to the gym.
-Vitamins! I was really good about taking them but then I had a few days where I didn't and it screwed up my routine. Going to recommit to the multiV!
-Logging my food! God I hate it, I do, but it helps to see what I'm eating and when. I'm hoping that I'll get into a routine where I just sort of eat the same thing every day and that way I won't have to log as many details.
-Up by 8:30, 5x/week: this goes hand in hand with the gym. I'd like to get in and out early so I can get on with my day. Shifts start at work at 10:30 so I should have plenty of time to work out, then work and head out for Fringe. There will be some nights where I want to stay out late for shows, so I'm giving myself two days for sleeping in if I need to.
-Stay ORGANIZED! This was the key to my success at MICF. I bought a planner so I can keep track of all my shifts, workouts, food and what not. I really want to kill it this month and be in the 2teens by the end of August.
Since last month's dietbet ended, I've been a bit more lax, and already I've felt the effects of that. I don't like the way I feel when I overindulge on booze and food, so I'm not going to do that. I'm looking forward to getting back into the gym and kicking ass for the next 30 days!
