Hello, dietbetters!

I am super excited to get going on this endeavor -- it couldn't come at a better time for me.  I am someone who feeds off of the excitement of something new and really relies on momentum for meaningful change.  When I give into stress and let slip my healthy habits in the name of "taking it easy on myself", I usually do so much more harm then good.  Extra days of rest turn into a week, which turns into two, which eventually leads to my having to overcome the inertia of starting all over.

But I'm committed now... I'll get back on track.  I want to start having children and not only do I want to have healthy pregnancies, but I want to role-model healthy habits and have them be second-nature.  I don't want my children to "inherit" any of the body issues or unhealthy food habits I did.

Goals this week... This week is going to be stressful (work travel at the end of the week, three major projects/presentations in various stages of completion, teaching a class today, and a meeting with the mover to strategize an effective move in two weeks), so if I am going to be successful, I need to have easy to reach goals to foster my success....

Here are my Goals -

1) Exercise for at least 30 minutes/day (preferably in one session, but if need be can be split up), at least 5 days this week.  Document it here or in Fitbit.

2) Hit 70,000 steps for the week. (Preferably, 10K each day, but I'm more likely to succeed when worded this way...

3) Journal everything that  I eat in Fitbit app each day.

4) Drink water.  Lots of water (goal of 2.5 liters a day).  No soda.

5) Read something positive everyday.

Alright,  these are S.M.A.R.T. goals... I can do it, I WILL do it!

We've got this!!

Laura :)
