The slump, I've hit it. Hard.
I have lost no weight this week. In fact, I've gained, which is just awesome. I haven't been exceeding my recommended calories, but I've also felt sick and my depression is acting up something fierce and messing with my body chemistry. It gets pretty severe for me, I'm sleepy all the time despite eating well, I get weird aches and pains, all the fun bells and whistles. I'm sure that's affecting some of it.
I am also NOT hitting my daily recommended intake of fiber. I'm getting about half as much as I should, i've realized, and that + constantly drinking water = the body not quite digesting things properly and throwing out the baby with the, uh... toilet water, so to speak. I go grocery shopping tomorrow, so tonight I'm going to look up what changes I can make to boost the amount of fiber I'm eating naturally. I'd rather not use supplements because they're expensive. The solution might end up being to replace some of my daytime snacks with apples or whatnot. I've already swapped out the orange I have every morning for a banana with some natural peanut butter, but I've only done that for 2 days so it's not doing me favors yet. Plus, I've also been skipping the leafy greens with my meatfoods the last couple days and I'm paying for that this morning. Eugh.
Still, I think I need to look at replacing my breakfast sausage with turkey sausage instead, and swapping out at least one of my daytime snacks with a piece of fruit. And since I feel pretty settled in my food routine, it's time to start exercising. That might help trick my body into forgetting I'm depressed long enough to drop some of that pesky week 2 weight. I have a half day off of work this afternoon, so I should take advantage of it and jump on our exercise bike.
The problem with exercising is that I haven't yet picked a TV show to watch while I work out! Any suggestions for bingable TV, y'all? Can be a half hour or hour long show, something with lots of seasons, preferably on Hulu, Netflix, or on Amazon video (included with Prime or on HBO, which I have).
