I had a really great day today! I was feeling pretty sick yesterday but woke up today and felt so much better. It's really amazing what some sleep and relaxation can do for you.

After breakfast, I started the day off with my Jillian Michaels Body Revolution DVD. I am nearing the end of week 2 and it is seriously an amazing workout. I have a gym membership to the gym in my apartment complex but lifting weights just felt so uncomfortable there. The people are all really nice but they don't see a lot of foreigners (especially not six-foot tall girls with tattoos lifting weights) so whenever I was in there I had people staring at me. Like blatant, stand in front me and take pictures kind of staring. Doing the weight circuit at home just makes me feel so much less self-conscious and trust me with Jillian it’s not easy! I am a little worried for next week. She keeps saying “enjoy this, it’s only weeks one and two, things are going to get a lot harder” and I’m already dying so I can’t imagine what the next workouts are going to be like!

After the Jillian workout, I headed to the gym for some cardio (yes people still stare but for some reason I can block them out a lot more easily when I'm on the treadmill). I am just starting week two of the C25K program. I really like running but I am not good at it at all. At one point, like 5 years ago, I was able to run 10K in 45 minutes, now I struggle to jog for a minute and a half. I also have a foot issue that causes extreme pain in my foot unless I stretch properly. It’s something called Plantar Fasciitis and it really sucks. So far it hasn’t been giving me too much trouble so hopefully the way this program eases you back into running will allow it to slowly adjust. If not, I may have to resort to some crazy Chinese acupuncture or something…

I was also really on point with my eating and water intake today so overall it’s been quite an awesome day! The highlight food-wise was after dinner I realized I was still quite under my calorie allowance for the day and decided to treat myself to a mini banana peanut butter smoothie. I threw a frozen banana, ½ tbsp of PB and a ½ cup of milk in my blender and the most incredible surprise happened – it was too thick for a smoothie and turned into this ice cream like dessert. Absolutely delicious and under 200 calories! Perfect end to a great day!
