I've learned a lot about my body from weighing myself daily. I don't do it to beat myself up over gaining, I do it to learn how my body metabolized the things I'm eating and the exercises I'm doing. For example, I learned that ANYTHING with soy sauce means an automatic two pound gain for about 36-48 hours - regular salt doesn't affect me that way, but soy sauce turns my body into a water receptacle. I've learned that walking with short bursts of jogging every few minutes is more productive for me than straight jogging. I've learned that drinking a full glass of water and a small healthy snack (half an apple, 1 cup of air popped popcorn) before bed seems to help me shed a few more ounces each day and keeps me from waking up feeling like I could eat everything in the refrigerator! Everyone's body is unique - I like that the scale has become a tool for me to understand how my body reacts to different things.

I am a daily weigher too. I find it takes the scale power away, and makes me more aware of how what I eat affects those fluctuations (salt, etc). Since it is part of my routine, it is just habit and the scale is not a scary thing. :)

Great goals! Another good choice for when you're thirsty and want to drink something healthy is tea (as long as it is not sweetened). I have a store near me that sells some pretty delicious loose leaf tea in lots of different flavors, but if there isn't one near you there are always some online stores.

Good luck with your goals and with the DietBet! You can do it :)
