My day started off super sluggish. I only got 5 hrs of sleep and when I got up I wasn't sure whether I was still dreaming or actually awake. Without thinking I just grabbed my workout clothes, made me a pre-workout shake (Joanna's banana coffee shake) and just mindlessly followed my plan for today. I still don't know how I managed to endure the Nike Training Club drills stuffed into 45 minutes with my tired body though XD.

It wasn't until I was at work, unpacking my lunch (Joanna's dreamy oats), that I realized that putting in the extra time yesterday to plan my day and to prepare today's food in advance (and even logging both today's meals and exercise in advance) made me start my day right! If I hadn't made this strict plan for today, I most probably wouldn't have gotten up earlier to workout. I wouldn't have had breakfast at home. Going to work hungry, I most definitely would have bought some convenience food on my way to work instead. Without a packed lunch, I would have fixed me lunch at work (I'm the new girl in a vegan cafe that sells very tempting and actually not too unhealthy food), most likely underestimating the caloric value of the food we sell there.

I got off work an hour late. However, today I was prepared for the unexpected! I packed in some extra snacks (Joanna's banana muffins) so unlike yesterday, I didn't leave work hungry.

Back home I had Joanna's creamy quinoa salad with bulgur instead of quinoa. I was so tired when I got home. If I hadn't known my dinner was already sitting in the fridge waiting for me, I might have grabbed a falafel sandwich on my way home, knowing I was too tired to fix dinner. But - I didn't!

After dinner my husband and I went for a long walk :). Now it's midnight and I'm exhausted. But having experienced how smoothly a well prepared day can be, I have decided to fix something quick for tomorrow despite really longing for my bed. Well, hubby didn't eat his share of the creamy quinoa salad, so I'm gonna have it for lunch tomorrow. One meal less to worry about ;).
