Incredibly easy to slip into old habits and excuses, we may find ourselves at the whim of our old selves. It's when we find it most trying that we must step back and analyze WHY we are doing what we are doing. Are you losing weight to be more healthy? Are you losing weight to look and feel great? Are you losing money simply to make more money through DietBet? Well, don't get too far ahead of yourself and understand that you shouldn't count others out before counting yourself out. This and all other competitions are really based on a contest with yourself and if you don't have your purpose sharpened, the dull reason you have applied yourself to could be nothing more than a quick fix with little hope of long term improvements.
I have a very deep and meaningful relationship with my wife. So much so that I walked away from a secure full-time job that I really enjoyed to pursue my passion as a writer. Thankfully, she supported me all the way in this process, because it would bring us together more and create more meaningful and limitless time together. However, during this process of going from complete structure in my life, regimented, strong and exact, I went to the comforts of mediocrity.
After all, I was home more now and the time my wife and I could spend together we would indulge in the finer things, such as, self-serve frozen yogurt shops, fast food restaurants and the like. In the meantime, I slowly put on unnecessary pounds and began to let myself go.
I asked my wife some time ago if I ever put on extra pounds and began to let myself go that she inform me of this development. She did and boy was she right. I wasn't accustomed to having a little belly protruding from my belt line. Nor was I used to having less tone through my normally vascular body. But, I did.
Thankfully, DietBet came along and fueled me even more to take action now. Even prior to registering, I decided to kick my workouts into overdrive and be regimented about my food intake and meal timing. I'm feeling better than ever now. My energy is up, my focus is razor-sharp, my efficiency has exponentially increased in my work and my love life is beyond words. She has become impressed in my work efforts and that's all I needed for validation.
So, define your reason for your weight loss journey. Does your purpose strike an emotion deep within you? I mean, does it affect you so much that you may just get teary-eyed? If so, then hold onto that emotion and keep running. If not, then you need to do some soul searching and find out why you are doing this competition? Why are you losing weight? Because if you are doing this JUST for the money, then you are truly cheating yourself of all that life has to offer.
