Welcome to my Diet Bet competition and thank you for allowing me to be a part of your healthy journey over the next month. While the goal of the diet bet is to lose some weight and to win some prize money for the holidays – I would also encourage you to look at this as a way of making some additional healthy choices. No matter where your overall health and wellness is at we can always improve.
I chose to start a Diet Bet team simply because I thought it would be fun! I like the idea of all of us encouraging each other and working toward a common goal. Also, I like the idea of each of us betting on ourselves to succeed. Like I am sure many of you have found losing weight and getting healthier for me has not been a straight line. I have been working on it for some time now and have had some successes and some failures when it comes to the scale. My success in both health & weight loss has come from using the Shaklee Nutritional Supplements, Shaklee 180 Weight Loss Plan, and following more of a Paleo diet/ lifestyle. You can learn more about my healthy journey here. When I mention the word “diet” I mean a way of eating and not the gimmicky, fad, or latest quick loss craze. Although, this is what I follow (and will be giving some tips on) each of us has to choose what healthy/weight loss lifestyle works for us and all I ask is that you please don’t do any crash dieting to hit a number – this will not get you to your overall goal any faster.
So Let’s Get Started! Each week I will ask you to please focus on 3 health goals for the week and to post them here – you can keep choosing the same ones till you have mastered them. They can be such things as drink more water, cut out soda (including diet soda), walk more, sleep more, cut out processed foods, cut out fast food, take a multivitamin, ect. So what are your 3 health goals for this week? I would also encourage you to take your measurements today and along the way – this is a good indicator that you are losing fat as you get smaller.
