I can't beleive it's taken me this long to drum up the uuumpf to get back at losing weight.  This has been a long slow road for me.  I lost over a hundred pounds, once upon a time, then let them slowly creep back on pretending it wasn't happening.  I put the 100 back on and an extra 30 for good measure :/.

A few years ago I got invited to a work weight loss challenge and lost almost 40 lbs.  I didn't win the challenge but it was still a win for me.  Thankfully, I kept that off (I may have added and removed the same 10 lbs at least 20 times since then) but never stayed over my original 40lb loss number.

Up until now I haven't been able to get back on the wagon to get the rest of the weight off.  I always had a great new excuse! (I'm fantastic at those when I don't want to change the way I'm doing things)  I'm here now relying on my very cheap nature to keep me on track.  I hate to lose money!  I have never bet on anything I wasn't 120% sure I would win!  I know what to do and how to do it.  I don't join the fads, because there's always a new one and slow and steady has worked for me before.  I also know this is a full lifestyle change not a quick fix.  Someone once told me "this is a marathon, not a sprint" it's been my favorite motivator ever since. Sometimes you will fall off (binges or holiday treats) get back on and keep going.

I do love to hear how other people are getting their weight off and I'm always game for new healthy recipies (even more so if my kids will like them too)  I am on mfp (username is mizandry) with an open diary.  My diet isn't perfect, but I know if I stick to it and make the best choices I can (that day) I will succeed.  I hope to see you in the winners circle with me!
